Interesting given that they have Lester, Lackey, Peavy, Buchholz, Dempster and Doubront.

If Hudson goes I think Josh Johnson would be a good move on a 1 year deal. His peripheral stats were good he just gave up homers at an a surd rate. Rumors are that he will seek out an NL team to rebuild value for next offseason. I think the Braves have an edge luring him having all world defender at SS. Best case he pitches well enough to get a qualifying offer and we get a draft pick out of it.

Hudson will probably sign with another team this time. He's played for 2 teams, why would 3 matter? Teams don't keep players any more and players don't play their entire careers for one team any more. Chipper, Jeter, Rivera, et. al. are the last of an old-fashioned trend in baseball. No room in modern MLB for nostalgia only business...

Josh Johnson signing with the Braves for a one-year deal makes a lot of sense for both parties. He would be my first choice for filling out the rotation.

There are some other free agent pitchers who I think might be a good fit on a one-year deal: Hughes, Capuano, Feldman, Arroyo. Roughly in that order of preference. Hughes might be interested in a one-year deal to rebuild value. He has good peripherals and his fly ball tendencies would hurt him less than they did in Yankee Stadium and the AL East. He has good upside, not as much as Johnson, but he could be quite a strong pitcher in the NL.

RedSox love any RH pitcher with a high ground ball percentage.

Isnt Lackey rumored to be moved or moveable. What about Peavy'c contract. And is Buckholtz hurt? Im guessing.

I forgot about Hughes. I would take him on a 1 year 9 mill deal or even go 3/27. I think he can be a number 2 starter I the NL.

Other options for impact starter include Lohse from the Brewers and Garza as a FA that won't cost a draft pick to sign. Ubaldo might be an option, and even though he will cost a draft pick he certainly has Ace stuff.

I think the fact that Wren didn't make a solid effort to bring Hudson back means he has his eyes set on a higher impact starter.

For the record, I think Josh Johnson would be a great pick up on a 1 year deal, and I have been saying so for a month now.

I wonder how much Haren would cost. If he comes in at less than 10M on a one year-deal, he would be a good option as well imo.

Really doesn't make sense to offer Hudson a two year deal, unless your the big money teams that can make mistakes every year. There's plenty of guys out there who can be had on a one year deal.

I've heard rumors they may move Lackey.

He makes 15 mil next year, and league minimum the year after, weird structure to his contract.

Want no part of Bucholtz whose always hurt.

Only reason i could see them trade a SP is because it's gonna cost bank to re-up Lester, like 100-130 million plus.

I'd be cool with Johnson on a 1-year deal.

Garza wouldnt be bad either if the price isnt bad.

I've said before Hughes isnt that bad, just needs a different park to pitch in.

Santana and Nolasco at those prices are an absolute joke.

Regardless, there are some options for Frank assuming Huddy gets 2 or 3 years.

The Lincecum deal has screwed everything up. I dont blame Santana and Nolasco, if The Freak is worth 17.5 maybe they are as well.

The Red Sox had syncronycity going for them this year. That won't carry over. Huddy would actually have a better chance of making it to the World Series with the Braves next year. But I don't blame him for taking the moolah.

Yep, they had a lot go right this year.

And losing Ellsbury will hurt alot, he was great for them.

Possibly even losing Napoli and Drew as well.

Saw they made Napoli an offer but money talks.

Though both Naps/Drew are tied to draft pick compensation.

I dont see Huddy returning unless Wren offers 2 years guaranteed.

    Per MLBTR.

    - Mac could get 100 mil from someone but likely 5/80 from a few teams and then decides where to go.

    - Choo looks to get more than Werth did, which was 126 million.

    - Nats could move Span and get in on Ellsbury.

    - Beltran wants 3-4 years.

    - DOB says the Braves could look at Halladay if Huddy walks, meh, i think Doc is done.

Halladay is literally a year removed from a very good season and 2 years from a Cy quality season. Maybe he's shot, but he's well worth the money.

    Doc is done. Trust me.
Beltran for another 3 years? That will be terrible for someone.
