Because there attempt to 'reform' it is either removing benefits or privatizing for people who can't manage their checkbook. For people like me and you this stuff is easy. You overestimate the average persons competancy.

The key to saving this is creating more jobs and not spending money in foreign wars.

How would an additional 1T in the coffers look right now?

There are so many ways to ensure Americans are taken care of that do not include heighted risk exposure.

If there are ~100M people who are not in the workforce... and we gave every single one of those people an $80K per salary...the resulting payrol taxes on that would still fall short of the projected shortfall

"more jobs" does not rescue this

You are missing that more jobs means more corporate tax inflow into the treasury coffers.

You are missing that part of my plan is to stop wasting all of our treasure on overseas wars.

    I'm not missing anything.

What I'm trying to show you is that your "solution" is impossible.

We are never going to get better than a 70% labor participation rate. You can't force people who don't want to work to work. It doesn't matter how many jobs you create... 30% of Americans are not going to work.

You are never going to zero out our defense budget. Trump increased it, bigly (yes i am aware of your excuses)

again, this is a math problem... and nothing you have suggested is a realistic solution

My excuse? Hysterical. I guess you were fine with ISIS then?

You are stuck in the world where it has to come from payroll taxes. The government can stimulate inflows in many different ways to pay for Americans livlihoods.

I would respect Trump a lot if he said "these benefits are crucial.. and we must protect them. Therefore we are going to increase payroll taxes by 5%"

i would think that's dumbest idea ever, but at least would show an awareness of the problem and a proposal to solve it.

Instead... he cries on twitter about anybody coming to the table with solutions.

    Not a good leader

If you tell me im supposed to look at results on the field. And I look at what Trump did with defense spending during his 4 years... I can tell you that he increased spending on defense by 6%+ every single year

Wanted to fight isis? OK... why didn't cut from other places in the budget? Why not end the wars we had? Why not stop buying so many new weapons artilirary?

Your telling me today he's going to re-allocate dollars to save SS... but there is no evidence of his willingness to do that. He didn't for four years, why should i believe he will now?

Because the US still needs to act as a deterrent globally. These aren't hard questions.

I'm not sure why you are pretending that 2019 wasn't a blockbuster year and that the future was looking even better.

Its fine - I see where you have put your flag on the ground. Desantis is a strong candidate so I don't blame you.

my pushback to you is that Trump and team are gonna "figure it out"

with some combination of huge job growth, reduced defense spending, other tax revenue

but ive asked for specifics on how to close the void and have been disappointed. and it's not like Trump is an outsider... we have 4 years of evidence of how he will perform. he didn't cut a dime. he accelerated spending. he had good job and wage growth but spent a fortune to get there... and in the end gdp couldn't even keep up with the increased spending - which is a failure of investment. and im being generous by not including any data from 2020

meanwhile, other candidates may be willing to address the problem head on. And rather than slandering them, it may be worth coming with better proposals for the failed ponzi scheme

    just my $0.02

That Ukraine war statement was the last straw for me. Desantis is obviously hiding true colors. War monger neo con. Enjoy sturg.

I'm impressed. DeSantis has gotten blasted for.his Ukraine stance from Liz Cheney, John Bolton, and thethe

    Good company you are keeping.

My judgement is fine. While you were pulling the lever for Obama, I was pulling the lever for the guy who said he'd shut down these agencies that are now being weaponized against a president who did literally nothing to stop them

But I'm glad to know aron DeSantis must be compelled to bark when directed to from the people who hate him

    Jealousy is a terrible look

Ironically, Obama was the true operator in weaponizing these agencies.

    And thethe voted for him!

Now those agencies have turned on all Americans.

Terrible judgement. Almost as bad as handing over the country to Tony Fauci.

    Almost

Yeah I hated bush and McCain. Not even sure my bite was a mistake then. What is always a mistake is voting for a high school political ideology. Great judgement!
