Considering the 'Republican wave' and overall excellent performance from more traditional Republicans (read: not wacko Tea Party people) during the midterms less than 6 months ago I'm actually extremely bullish on the electorate's views of GOP congressmen.

Yeah let's consider the Republican wave. (D) collected (overall nationally) the most votes in 2008,10,12 and 14 So the Republican wave as you call it is a mirage. Just like their jobs bill and counter policy to ACA.

From where I sit, (R) Presidential politics mirror perfectly (R) Congressional prowess.
A bunch of loonies and niche stumpers running around trying to get their mug on TV rather blatantly doing no more than vying for a Fox program

How is Jeb looking today? He sank faster than Chris Christie. REmember Christie? He was the one that resident (R) supporters said would survive the Bridge fiasco's.
He ain't lookin' so good either

Hillary isn't looking so good herself. The woman has been corrupt ever since Nixon was in office and her time is running out.

For all of her faults, that is an old story that has been proved false so many times ...

as in, she shot Vince Foster to cover up their love child after he blackmailed her into prostitution knowing and threatening to expose her affairs at Rose Law Firm.

    You mean those corruptions?
    //

Or the ones where she was out of touch on Fox News of all places

    Salon/Huffington Post/Daily Kos ... that's basically all I ever see him referencing.

It's hard not to be completely brainwashed when all you subject yourself to is that tripe.

You don't care that she's corrupt or do you seriously believe everything about her is some silly right wing conspiracy to get her?

Speaking of cycles, Dems are due to take some state legislatures back in the next few years. Also the fact if Hillary gets re-elected in 2020 and theres a big wave that will help the Dems gerryMandel districts back and Dems can maybe retake the house in 2022 or 2024.

"So here's the deal," Bush told an audience in Arizona. "If we're all supposed to answer hypothetical questions, knowing what we know now, I would not have engaged. I would not have gone into Iraq. That's not to say that the world is safer because Saddam Hussein is gone. It is significantly safer."

But would he have gone then? I maintain that answer is yes. Same for Hillcat.

It was obvious to everyone that he misunderstood the question.

Everyone running for president has some skeletons in their closet or has been involved with something corrupt I'm sure. Even someone like Warren or sanders.

Hillary is a progressive. Probably more progressive than Obama. She ran a centrist campaign last time and it bit her in the ass because her advisers weren't expecting the left or country to be this ready for someone to run as left as Obama did in 2008.

You don't think his campaign advisers havent reminded him for the last 6 years that if he ran, someone in the media was bound to ask him this question?

I'm not really happy with anyone running....But as an AA female I'll throw my vote to Hillary. Don't want those yahoos on the right who are running to get into office. I think both parties are corrupt. Hillary is the lesser of two evils. I rather not see more stone age biblical laws & judges. I think the dems have it pretty easy for years if they nominate Hillary, select one of the Castro brothers as VP, and then have him run for president after Hillary. The right wing just does not get it at all. We are not all white men. Once they start appealing to minorities and stop saying offensive crap I think they can win presidential elections again.

Traditionally federal politics are the bellwether for state/local politics but the turnover rate is higher so it's hard to say ... it really depends on the success of the party at the national level. Democrats looked great in 2008-2010ish but have been scuffling across the board every since.

If Hillary gets elected in 2016 it will be because she ran an extremely centrist campaign, which she is going to need to do to be relevant anyways. The question is are guys like Bernie Sanders going to force her to fly her freak flag during the primaries and damage her down the road?
