Struck out the side in the 3rd, gave up one hit and it looks like it may have been another infield hit.
3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K.

That 2015 draft is ridiculous.
TD just crushed that ball...
It would s going to be so much fun watching these pitchers develop
Chopping With The Braves And Rolling With The Tide
You always hate to throw out the Maddux comp because there was only one Maddux. But I sometimes wonder if that's a good comp for Soroka. He mixes an excellent sinker with a good breaking ball and exceptional control. He also seems to know more about pitching than a kid his age should.
I'm not saying Soroka will become Maddux but I can easily see him being a workhorse whose results are far better than his pure stuff would seem to justify.
OMG.. this SS (Harper) is butchering Soroka. making him throw a lot of extra pitches. of course Soroka had him struck out twice that the ump decided not to call..
imagine that is it for Soroka.. ~80 pitchesand probably on a hard pitch count this early in season... He should have gone 7 innings, but the SS had 2 error and should have had 3 but it was ruled a hit.. The Ump also doesn't know what a fastball on the black looks like either.
**edit.. seems Soroka is hitting for himself, so he will go another inning it looks like.
Franco unloaded on that pitch.. I didn't know he had that kind of power.
Valenzuela with a big triple. He has hit the ball hard every time...
And they pull Soroka.. strange.. he hits but doesn't go back out. maybe the score ballooning to 5-0 and length of the half inning made them error on the side of caution.
I doubt it. Again, decisions in the minors, especially this early in the season, are going to be made pretty much 100% in regard to a player's development; so I'm sure the Braves have him on a pitch count, like they do others.
But he'll be trying to hit major league pitching before long, so you might as well run him out there for one more AB instead of pinch-hitting for him.
I'm guessing the manager has pretty limited control over when to extend a pitcher further. I don't think it has anything to do with the score.
