Heyward has no business on the all star team. 19th highest wRC+ as a corner outfielder. OBviously his defense puts him higher than guys with comparable offensive numbers, but there are a ton of guys that blow him away.

If all a baseball player is is offense then Jason doesn't deserve to be on there, but if all-world defense counts for nothing, then why bother? And you can argue those other guys over guys on the roster I'm making a specific case. I'd have Jason ans Justin on my AS team, I don't think there's 7 better OFs unless you want to bring on Billy Hamilton for sick defense and speed.

Baseball isn't all offense, but there is only so much impace defense can make at a corner outfield spot where you get 2-3 chances a game in which the large majority are routine plays.
There is no way in hell Heyward deserves to be an all star this year....that is all homerism.

If that was the case then no RF would be a major plus or minus defensively. Jason makes 2-3 outs per game and who knows what added plays he makes turning double to single, triples to doubles or holding runners. What I do know is every defensive metric says Jason makes many plays that other RFs don't make. Leads RF in UZR, DRS, and OOZ. The last being the most flawed stat of the bunch but I digress. Maybe he isn't really worth 20 runs. But I'll 500% trust the guys who make up UZR and DRS numbers and calls over you, since you think the large majority of the plays Jason makes are routine.

More like you'll trust any stat on any website, regardless how accurate they are.
If you can honestly sit here and tell me that Jason Heyward has not only been the best position player on the Braves, but also has been one of the 9 best players (hitting or pitching) in the NL, then you have lost what little credibility you had.
Congrats to Julio. I know he deserves it.
I research every stat I use. ANd I think Jason is an all-star. Is WAR perfect? No it's not. But does it paint us the most accurate picture of overall contributions? Yes. I don't think Jason is the best Braves as I think defensively WAR is cruel to Freddie adn that he's better than Jason. And I don't think Jason is one of the 9 best players in baseball. And if you knew anything about WAR then you'd know that you can't compare position players and pitchers. But then again time after time you've proven you know nothing about it so I don't really even care.
To me a guy who's average offensively (or below average if you go by position) and far away best at his position defensively deserves respect and should make it over guys who're just good offensively and average to bad defensively.
And you shied away from Blackmon being clearly superior to Jason, I guess you don't know how to use park factors afterall. Maybe someday you'll have the statistical knowledge that I possessed almost a decade ago.

Well Harrison is obviously more of a utility player. But just comparing them in their OF defensive contributions. If Harrison's bring along was to be the Omar Infante of the team then I guess that's one thing, but this team is deep with infielders on the bench having somene to play play has to hold value and I don't think anyone in the NL beats Justin in that.

Jason Heyward doesn't deserve to be within 10 zip codes of the AS Game this year. Blows my mind anyone would argue otherwise.
Now if this was Bp to La Stella, he is the first guy I call.
