Fredi is a good guy. i don't think anyone doubts that. I'm glad he's gone, but I appreciate his post-game interviews and positive outlook!

Quite possibly the classiest interview I've ever heard this morning - and I've been around for a long time. Fredi was on XM with C. J. Nitkowski and Jim Duquette earlier this morning.

The man had absolutely nothing, and I mean NOTHING bad to say about the Atlanta Braves or anyone who's ever been involved with the organization.

He literally laughed about the e-mail/ticket mixup. Said that he had absolutely no animosity towards anyone involved and that no one's "lying" or trying to save face - that it was an unfortunate mistake. Hart wanted to be there in person when Coppy talked to Fredi, and wasn't able to be when the whole mess got out. Said he sat in his room eating pizza and drinking wine until Hart could be included in the conference call because no one wanted to "hide" from anything.

Explained that the "ultimatum" he supposedly gave Coppy was one of the most overblown "stories" he'd ever heard. Told them that Coppy mentioned that everyone kept asking the question even though he had answered multiple times saying that they had no immediate plans to make a change whatsoever when Rosenthal said he'd be replaced when they came back from New York. Said that Coppy was frustrated and that he completely understood, so he explained to him that there were really only 3 things that a GM could do in that situation - either fire him, give him a vote of confidence in the press, or pick up his 2017 option or the reporters would just keep asking every time the team lost a few games in a row until he did one of those things. Said he knew this was tough on everybody - including Coppy - and that he was just explaining the situation since he'd been through it before and Coppy hadn't. He was actually trying to help Coppy.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Yeah, everything about Fredi is just delightful. I feel bad for wanting this move so strongly because he seems like a wonderful person. Thanks to Fredi for being such a good guy through the years and even now.

Fredi is not a very good manager, but I kind of hope we give him a token job in the front office. He's a good lad.

I agree. I figured they would. Fredi has been very gracious about this whole deal, and it speaks well of him.

With the Lavarnway release, we could use a new backup catcher in AAA?
