I think Sims was pegged by not to be at best a 8th inning guy. His performance this year has changed that IMO

    LOL

What time is the posi-Braves circle jerk over the most recent Sims start? I want to join in the stroking!

Sims was already on the list.

He could end up being useful as a reliever or a starter, but we already knew that.

The system is better after these 24 innings by Sims.

I think we need more than a handful of starts to change ones perception.

I only needed to see one pitch to realize Sims is now a lock to be a TOR guy.

Of course we need more but prior to the tear it didn't even seem like an option. That is quickly changing.

Is it though? Does anybody think this outside of this forum?

I'm are the scouts watching him have starred to reconsider. He always had the arsenal and size to be projected as a starter.

I thought some of the national guys still liked Sims.

Some might. He's wasn't even in Logenhagen's braves top 32 to start the year. I think his best case scenario right now is a late innings reliever.

I would love to get back on the Sims train having seen him a lot IN PERSON. He's a lot like Newcomb in that...when it goes south,it does in a hurry. I've always said if he had Smoltzies Dr..he'd improve greatly.

Years ago, I talked about his need to get mentally tough and he admitted so himself. I don't know if Enscheff is a Brave fan or not, but he is right on that he needs a season of this now. He's been as good in a few starts before. But I'm a posi-Brave so there's that.

'best case scenario - late innings reliever'

Why? How in the world is that his 'best-case' scenario? I get being down on Sims, I get the command/control wanders like a hobo in Vegas... but he's 23, still strikes out a lot of batters and in AAA this year has a .72 WHIP and a .129 BAA..... his best case is still firmly in the rotation IMO.

Sims has always had good stuff. For some reason someone posted a baseless dink on his fastball yesterday and now his stuff isn't good.

    You guys.

I think his best case scenario is a major league starter personally.

Kid went from a prospect to a non-prospect based on 50 rough innings in his first trip to AAA at 23. He's now got 20 pretty strong innings in AAA his second time around. Kid seemed to lose his feel last season and fell apart. Maybe he's got it back. Ace? Probably not. But the 50 IP last year aside, he's been pretty hard to hit.

Lets not forget that every starter dogged it at AAA it seemed last year. Then the coach was replaced right? Everyone went down to AA to get "right" I think.
