    He's no Bryce Harper, though.

    He's no MVP candidate though.

He should be top 5 easily but won't thanks to the Braves crappy season. He's 3rd in fWAR in the NL. It's crazy how good of a season he is having but it seems nobody outside of Atlanta is even noticing it.

6.2 fWAR (3rd in NL) and 156 WRC+ (tied for 1st in NL). Dudes become the player that we needed.

And he'll be traded right after BOTH Coppy's arms are gone at this point.

This is not a shot at those who like to discuss those types of things to make interesting chatter on a message board - makes for interesting topics - but a Freeman trade is as close to never happening as a handful of others being traded or someone breaking Joe D's hit streak record or Ryan's no-hitter record.

Players that are as much "in play" as Freddie at this point:

Kershaw, Harper, Bryant, Arenado, Trout, Bumgarner, and maybe a few others.

No, you can never say "never", but the return would have to be so franchise-altering that someone would have to be crazy to meet the price.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Yeah, he has really turned a corner that I honestly didn't think he would ever turn. Which was fine, I was completely satisfied with the player he was. But if he can sustain something like this going forward, he's a massive piece in getting this team to where we want to be.

off wall theory.. FF seemed to get beaten by the shift last year. he was still having a good season when healthy, but man that shift ate a lot hits up. This year it seems he has changed his approach more to hit the ball in the air. I am not in ppsition to check FB/GB %.. but I would bet he is hitting more FB this year. whatever the reason for him having a break out season, I hope it continues. He would become a top ten talent that could lead a team to a championship.

thanks, out of curiosity, is 2015 around his career norms? That is a bigger jump than I expected.

It is. His profile has changed this year (higher K%, higher FB%, etc)and it looks like the end result has worked out. Hopefully it stays.
