I'm actually beginning to really hope the Cowboys take Zeke at 4 and somehow take Lynch either in the 2nd or trade back into the first.

I"ve decided as much as we need defensive help I don't feel like they can NOT take their future franchise QB, either Wentz or Goff at 4. Romo winds up spending too much horizontal time and we've all seen how great they do without him (UGggggghhhhhh) so if it were me I'd take a QB at 4, assuming either of those two guys are available.

Hey Crimson, tell me about Derrick Henry. You well know the kind of crappy reputation Tide RBs have earned lately, tell me Henry will be different? How is he at picking up the blitz? What about in the passing game? Most of all how quick and/or fast is he in the open field? He doesn't look all that fast or quick, but you've seen him a LOT more than I have. What do you think?

Henry caught 16 passes in the two years he started. I think that about all you need to know about how he is the passing game.

Crimson, you looks like you forgot Jalen Ramsey in your latest mock.

You can never tell about RB's in the draft. Out of the group of Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Eddie Lacy, and T.J. Yeldon, if you would have told me before that Richardson would be the biggest bust by far, I would have called you crazy.

As far as Henry, his game is as good as it gets. Heisman Trophy, all those touchdowns and rushing yards, more than even Herschel Walker in a season, speaks for itself. A big responsibility for running backs in Nick Saban's offense is picking up blitzes and blocking. He struggled with that his freshman season, which is a big reason why he didn't get significant playing time until the Sugar Bowl that season against Oklahoma. He got real good at that though, so I would not be concerned about that.

He doesn't look fast because of his size. But trust me, he is fast. That 6'3", 247 lbs frame makes it look like he isn't, but there have been plenty of times I have watched and been amazed at him in the open field. He is a gifted football player.

Now, none of this guarantees success in the NFL, as Trent Richardson is evidence of that. But his game and work ethic certainly gives him a great chance of success. Get him behind the Cowboys O-Line, and he could have a big impact as a rookie.

Now, none of this guarantees success in the NFL, as Trent Richardson is evidence of that. But his game and work ethic certainly gives him a great chance of success. Get him behind the Cowboys O-Line, and he could have a big impact as a rookie.
That makes me feel better, but what about his hands in the passing game?

EDIT: Of course if they do sign Morris as has been rumored I don't see them taking a RB at all this year. What do you think?

He'll have to do that a lot more in the NFL to be sure. I don't recall him being a major part in the passing game. Certainly not as much as T.J. Yeldon and Kenyan Drake were.

My opinion only, but I think he'd do fine. I did watch him catching passes in the drills at the NFL Combine and he did well. I don't recall one drop. Of course, game action is different from individual drills, but no reason why he shouldn't be able to succeed in that.

I flirted with the idea of putting Elliott at the Cowboys pick at #4. I think the possibility is greater than it was a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if teams are willing to invest a top five selection on a RB, however. The last one taken that high was Trent Richardson at #3 by the Browns and we all know how his career has gone................

Yeah, but I think Elliott is clearly more talented than Richardson. And some think he's the best RB prospect since AD, and that includes Todd Gurley.

I do like Henry, but in today's NFL, I think you have to be a complete RB. I don't think Henry possesses the pass catching ability at this time to warrant more than a mid 2nd round pick. If he can't be an asset in the passing game, then I don't see much difference between him and someone like Carlos Hyde.

I think Henry might be a little faster than Hyde, and is also bigger. But he could end up around there.

That's why I love Elliott though. Great pass catcher, fantastic blocker, and great runner. He's going to be extremely dangerous.

Its really tough to trust any Alabama RB at this point. They all look like OJ Simpson in college.

Nice to see Morris get some money. Just a stand up dude; its a shame he's going to such a jacked up culture. I think he's shot, but wish him luck in 14 games next year.

You also have to be pretty dumb to draft a running back early in the draft.

Can't argue with drafting AD or Gurley in the top 10.

Yeah, but what about Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, Caddy Williams, Reggie Bush, Laurence Maroney, Moreno, Donald Brown, Spiller, Matthews, Best, Richardson, David Wilson, etc.
