    Exactly. However, Fredi isn't going to look at that way but you know that already.

    Exactly. I know it's a cruel thing to say but I don't think anybody would lose sleep if Fredi destroys Sugar Ray's arm during a rebuilding year.

    Yea, no offense to Teheran's cousin he just isn't someone that you're concerned about losing via injury. Plus he wasn't even expected to make the Majors but the Braves gave him a shot no one else seemed interested in giving him.

    Is there really anybody in the bullpen that we expect to be contributing in 2017?

    Hey, Chip!

    Mark Bowman
    @mlbbowman
    Kohn and Cornely are both capable of providing multi-innings. Fredi indicated Cornely will fill the long relief role Marimon had.

    Hard to say, but if we wisely let Fredi go after his contract runs out (or even better fire him sooner). Then I wouldn't be ruling out 2016 as far as contending for a Wild Card. We have more money now to do so and our position prospects like Mallex Smith and Jose Peraza are coming along fine too. They both should be ready to go for 2016 IMO.

    These two should trade first names. John Cohn and Michael Cornely just sound much better.
    thank you weso1!

    I wondered who else in the pen had options besides Cunniff. Kid doesn't deserve a demotion.

    Everyone but Johnson and Grilli had minor league options, Cunniff was just sent down because he needs a break more than anyone else.

    This actually seems like a vote of confidence for Cunniff. They think enough of him not to use him like a rag doll. I suppose he's earned it.

    The bottom line is our starters have to step their **** up. It's easy to run guys in the ground, when your starters can't make it through 5-6 innings.

    That's true too, if our starters keep failing to go deep into games then Fredi will have even more chances to abuse the bullpen.

    He hasn't even allowed a hit vs a righty yet, his only issue has been a bit too many walks. He looks like a very solid righty specialist but so did Gearrin not long ago.

    Thomas and Avilan have options left.

    Cornely still hasn't pitched since his recall. But hey, that isn't Fredi's fault anymore than last night was his fault. And for the record, I am not blaming last night totally on Fredi or totally on anyone, plenty of blame to go around for last night's nightmare ending.

    I thought Fredi should have pulled Teheran after 5 and given Cornely an inning. That said, last night can't be laid at the manager's feet.
