Could be, but I think the penalty is so high after Round 10 that you can probably only target a couple of guys. I think it's more likely they would try to draft Everett or Beck in Round 9 or 10.

I would be lying if I said this draft hasn't been disappointing overall so far.

I think those guys are as good as gone to college.

Right. You'd only draft them if you had something in place.

Simple, first team with a 25 man pitching staff in history. Power arm after power arm, teams will forfeit when the schedule is released.

This is certainly the right part of the draft to be going heavy on college pitchers.

People should remember that all predraft talk by the Braves is that this draft is all about rebuilding the lower levels of the system. You have to do that with quantity.

So far our middle round drafting this year reminds me of what we did in 2008. We took five college pitchers from rounds 5 to 10 and three of them made the majors. Clemens, Oberholtzer and Hoover. That was a very good yield from that part of the draft.

Throws a 100 but huge command issues.

    7 pitchers in 9 picks.

Reliever who transferred from Pacific, went Juco in 2014. Big dude (6-6) originally from Ventura, Calif., so was probably scouted at same time as earlier Cali guys.

In Juco struck out 84 in 61 IP,
