Folks are confusing best hitter with best player.
An argument could be made that a healthy Harper will be a better hitter than Trout.
However, Trout does every other baseball related activity so much better than Harper...it isn't even close when proclaiming which is the best overall player.
I had the best tools ever.. if it wasn't for that bee sting and subsequent allergy attack in little league, I would be the GOAT..
