Love Acuna and think he has superstar potential but the hype train for him might be spinning a bit out of control.

It's seriously no joke. It's not just us, but people all over the internet. Twitter is filled with people in love with his five-tool potential.

It's pretty amazing how quickly he ascended into this.

How? Trout is literally as good or better in every meaningful category. He's been the best player in the majors every year. Remarkable consistency.

Harper was better in 2015 but you are right. Trout has been the best player in baseball for basically every season he has played.

Just a feeling I have when I watch Harper. Guy is unstoppable when he can stay healthy.

It's like the Bo Jackson argument though, if is still if. Potential doesn't matter when it comes to the conversation of greatest.

Greatest means you do it all well.

That being said, I don't like Harper very much, but he's incredible.

Because thethe has a hardon for Harper despite undeniable evidence that Trout is on a GOAT track while Harper is merely on a HOF track

They are both going to go down as among the great hitters of all time. Trout may end up number 1 and Harper will be way up there if they both stay healthy.

    Another comp: Eric Davis.

    Eric Davis at age 19 in low-A: .322 AVG, 11 HR, 10 2B, 4 3B, 40 SB, .467 OBP, and a .561 SLG in 247 PA.
    Ronald Acuņa at age 19 in A+/AA/AA: .305 AVG, 15 HR, 21 2B, 6 3B, 35 SB, .360 OBP, and a .504 SLG in 435 PA.

Eric Davis was amazing in the bigs but was beset by injuries. A true five-tool talent.

Folks are confusing best hitter with best player.

An argument could be made that a healthy Harper will be a better hitter than Trout.

However, Trout does every other baseball related activity so much better than Harper...it isn't even close when proclaiming which is the best overall player.

You and crimedog247 would have made a dynamic duo in some MLB team's OF. Such a damn shame!

Davis was one of my fave players when I was little along with Sabo, Sandberg and Will Clark...
