O'Day currently on 60 day DL....wtf?

Get off my lawn!
That O'Day contract is pretty obscene though
Evan Philips should be happy. He grew up in Maryland.

The deal, which is now official, also sends injured reliever Darren O’Day to Atlanta, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic (via Twitter). Unloading that contract likely reduced the O’s demands for young talent. They’ll pick up prospects corner infielder Jean Carlos Encarnacion, catcher Brett Cumberland, righty Evan Phillips, and lefty Bruce Zimmermann. There’s some international bonus money coming, too.

Terrific deal.
Acuña’s Bat Flip (07-31-2018)
O'Day has to be happy. He gets a WS ring and doesn't have to do anything.
thank you weso1!

2.5 million of intl money to Baltimore.
Really good deal. O’Day can be a nice piece next year, too. I like JCE, but he’s 20 in Low A, far away from the big leagues and swings at everything.
Great deal. Man.
Is O'Day not coming back this season?
Hopefully O'Day comes back strong next year as he's due 9 million it seems. This explains why we didn't have to even include someone like Fried in the deal. That said, O'Day is good when healthy so while expensive next year he can help if he's his old self again.
O’day had hamstring surgery to make sure he will be 100% next year. Nothing to do with his arm or shoulder.
Should be a good peice for next year.
BALTIMORE -- Orioles reliever Darren O'Day will have hamstring surgery in the near future, ending his season with a six-month recovery process, manager Buck Showalter said Saturday. An MRI Wednesday morning revealed a Grade 2 strain on O'Day's left hamstring. At the time, surgery appeared to be a less likely possibility.
My only concern is Gausman’s FB velocity went from 95.1 last year to 93.8 this year.
