Sure it isn’t his sister? She looks a little young, and I don’t think they drafted Zito.

MLB Network’s draft coverage is consistently the most awkward TV experience every year.

    FG on Misner:

"As he entered SEC play, the only time he's even been watched closely against strong pitching, Misner wasn't good. He posted a .668 OPS with 21/39 BB/K ratio in 131 plate appearance. His swing flaw is tied to a toe tap he uses for timing, which has been terrible against mid-90s stuff since he stays back/coiled so long that his stride length/power varies swing to swing and he has no rhythm. Misner is now 21 with no track record of success against strong pitching his age, but with rare tools, so he's closer to a popup prep bat than most college bats in terms of risk and the information clubs possess to make decisions."

A toolsy college hitter that's a project. If you like going for potential impact guys, this is a decent pick.

Bobby Witt Jr at 2. No surprises at the top 2 so far but it gets dicey from here.

They had an opportunity to capture the first conversation between the top pick and the general manager (think how awesome the Bobby Cox /Chipper Jones interview would have been)...

    and they mucked it up.

Tell us your bona fides, hero.

You won a College World Series and were drafted 1st round, right?

I find it hilarious you are using daddy's credentials to legitimize yourself though. Pathetic, even for you Taylor...

It’s amazing the collection of early 90’s anonymous baseball talent they have amassed on their broadcast.

Is anyone keeping tabs on which mocks are tracking the best? Or have all the major ones pretty much converged by now?

Honestly, I just feel bad for Mayo who has to carry the water year after year.

    I'm not.

And congrats. Pacific is a fine school with scholars of note like Michael Olowokandi.

Your exact words: "my dad and his buddy were D1 players, so I know athletes"...

You may mock, but watching him walk around the dance floor at frat parties was a sight to see.

I would LOVE to hear about your scholastic career. Which esteemed institute of higher learning are you earning your comms degree? What are your athletic credentials?

    All sounds great, except Stockton...

Only experience I ever had in Stockton was taking the GRE there as it had the shorter waiting list than any of the Bay Area locations. Let’s just say I am not planning a return trip any time soon .

Vaughn looks like a monster. Looks like the actualization of the Seth Beer dream quest from years yonder.

Stockton is the biggest **** hole I've ever seen. On my recruiting trip they took me directly from the I-5 through a nice little middle class neighborhood (likely the only one in the city). Campus was rose gardens and brick buildings covered in ivy. A huge white bell tower with stain glass windows at the top. The baseball field was shared by the Stockton Ports, the A's single-A team. It seemed like a great wannabe ivy league school.

Then I got there, and my first experience as an 18 year old semi-redneck was a bum jumping out from behind the Jack in the Box drive thru menu to wash my windows for spare change. A jarring experience...

Right. I've already said that I agreed with you that that was foolish, and you were saying I was still trying to legitimize myself in that manner. That is not the case.

No mocking here. I am smart enough to know there are smart people all over. Walter Payton played at Jackson State instead of USC, after all.
