He could easily be a 3 WAR guy not to mention the other pieces we would give up.
Braves are set at 2B for the foreseeable future. Grissom could be a good player but still needs some seasoning. For a team in the middle of a championship window, you can make that kind of move IMO. And if you bring in Reynolds, who is much better than Rosario/Ozuna, you can still sign Swanson. You’d have the best offense in baseball for the next 3 years

Also, as we head into this Winter Meetings, let’s all remember….AA never does anything really at the winter meetings. So I expect it to be quiet on our front

AA was after Reynolds last year and again this offseason so him seeing Reynolds say he wants to be traded has to have him drooling a little. I know Reynolds can’t dictate where he goes but hopefully AA can make a strong offer. Getting him and one of the SS would make us even more dangerous than we already were. I think it’s time AA moves all of his chips in and goes for it.

I can't see the Pirates trading Reynolds without getting another OF who is either a young veteran or major league-ready back from somewhere.

So the Braves were in on deGrom until the Rangers went to 5 years. So all of that about the Braves won’t spend can be put to rest.

They have the money for whoever but if AA sees the value isn’t there then we won’t pursue it.

I think thats where Malloy come into play. He’ll be in AAA and ready to contribute. We have the pieces to get the trade done imo.

All good. Turns out Olney had it in his article, so some credibility there.

AA seems pretty determined to make one splash. I also think this might mean Braves are pivoting away from Dansby.

If we have money for DeGrom, can we go for Correa or Turner?

Common sense tells people that he has the money to do whatever he wants. I would say the chances he pays what Dansby wants is slim. Value just isn’t there.

I couldnt imagine what the Braves rotation would have been if we had gotten deGrom. The best 1-5 we would have probably ever had. Morton as the 5 is insane.

I think so too. If we wanted Dansby we could have gotten him by now. He’s just to streaky to invest long term money in.
