That's what I thought. I knew Freeman did, but the one I responded to I misread and thought he meant Morton had it as well

This is one of the things I've been thinking about with AA that's been frustrating me. Looking at our top prospects list on any site, and there isn't a single prospect that AA traded for. Every prospect is either one that he or the previous regime drafted, or the previous regime signed as an international prospect. Obviously the international sanctions aren't AA's fault, but as that tweet points out, the Dodgers and plenty of others still prioritize getting prospects back in deals even in their windows to compete. You'd think that would be even more of a priority for an organization that hasn't been able to sign any impact international prospects. And it's even more of an argument to sell some pieces this year when the entire roster has been destroyed by injuries, but he won't do that either.

We're in our window to compete right now, so I'm not asking AA to trade everything specifically for prospects, but it's been a weird balance of him showing zero interest in adding prospects to the system while also showing zero interest in giving up any prospects.
    Fantastic take.

**** or get off the pot. Hoarding prospects and expiring contracts isn't a good plan to sustain this team going forward. The lack of properly addressing our needs this off-season, along with the lack of a FF extension, and a failure to sell on this team now has definitely given me cause to seriously doubt AA's future as our GM.

Didn’t AA also say they had room to hard payroll this deadline?

Why wouldn't he get a NTC for somewhere else? Seems to be the standard with elite FAs. If he gets less than 5/125 I would be very surprised. Someone will probably pay him 7/150.

Hope everyone is prepared for Bryant and Kimbrel to the Mets and to watch Kimbrel dominate us for a year and a half.

Let them. Kimbrel may return back to his 2019/2020 state, and he is expensive. Let the Mets trade away some of their farm.

Muller is probably doing command over velocity right now. He's had trouble throwing strikes throughout his career and maybe they want to have him get that down before ramping up the velocity. Can be difficult for some guys to do both right out of the gate. Baseball Savant ranks Muller's fastball spin as excellent. I don't know if he's a 50 FV or not, but with Morton and Smyly as impending FAs, I don't know if we can comfortably move him.

So I can be a beat writer if I just post useless info.

#phillies still in this. Looking to add starting pitching. # Mets are needing offense. Checking in on some bats. #braves will do nothing as usual. Will be heralded as being smart with resource.

    Am I hired.

    You forgot two things
    1. Pick the dumbest question/comment our of your replies and to quote tweet it to make you look smarter
    2. Don't forget to post about irrelevant items like music/food when the majority of followers follow you for baseball news

If we get difference makers, I think we are more likely to acquire Ian Kennedy as our reliever and Whit Merrifeild as our bat.

If we get marginal players , I think it will be Joakim Soria and Asdrubal Cabrera or David Peralta.

The Braves don’t have anyone to trade like Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp, unless they’re selling. Which, they’re not. Maybe we could trade Joc in the off-season after picking up his option, but he isn’t going to net much.
