    How are they slowing down?

What an annoying game. This was a win, until it wasn‘t. As disappointing as the bats were, this one‘s on the coaching staff. No reason to extend Matzek after how he looked in the 6th. Chavez should be pitching long relief and mop up, not with runners on in 1 run games. And if they‘re going to stick with Olson, at least drop him to 7th.

I’ve been thinking about this as a lineup adjustment

    Acuña
    Harris ll
    Swanson
    Riley
    Contreras
    Olson
    d’Arnaud
    Grossman/Rosario
    Grissom

Perhaps you’re looking at it the wrong way. We’re in a tight division race with high stakes but we already have made the playoffs. Snit needs to know who in that bullpen can do what before the playoffs start.

He's had all year to figure that out.

Pitching Rasiel Iglesias and Minter in 7-1 games then pitching Jackson Stephens down 2-3 in the score.

Or pitching McHugh at the weirdest times.

I’d be awfully surprised if the Mets don’t win at least 103 games at this point.

We've certainly blown a ton of games we could have won. Probably sets up where have to sweep NY to win the East given they'd have the tiebreaker if we just won 2 of 3. Also probably have to win 3 of 4 in Philly given at best the A's will get 1 if even that this weekend.

At least we have two challenges for tomorrow, since we didn't have them look at the guy getting hit in the pant leg while standing on home plate bunting.

Yeah...a 95 win pace is horrible. So slightly less than perfect the last couple of weeks.

I didn’t ****ing say it was horrible. I said they were slowing off the historic 120-win pace they were on.

If my math is right, they're 70-29 since the run started. It'd be even crazier if they hadn't flat-out given away around 10 of those losses.

I would legit say we could have won at least 5 of those loses. And I can’t think of any wins that we probably shouldn’t have. We almost had one but then Kenely blew it.
