No. Simmons' AB is what's wrong with this team...inability to consistently get the big hit. Plain and simple.

They go hand-in-hand. I'm amazed at how many bad swings we take in hitters' counts.

If Gattis moves the runner over, CJ singles in Freddie.

Evan wants to make me pull out my hair as much as Simmons.

If Uggla is the three true outcomes, then Evan is 4. Homer-K-Popup-Flyout.

What value does Gattis bring if he doesn't walk and he only homers every once in a while?

At least BJ is walking, spraying the ball around and has speed to beat out a grounder.

Gattis should be 5 or 6.

Nothing can be worse than last year, he's actually had some hard hit balls this year compared to last year they're just not falling in. The bottom of the 6th was a perfect example.

It's easy for me to root for Bossman, since he plays for the Braves. There's no uncertainty about which CF on which team to root for on different teams.

Because traditionally your cleanup hitter is a guy who can provide instant offense with power. BJ has literally hit every where in this lineup and proved that he cannot do that.

We've been trotting out CJ in cleanup, the top 3 are set right now unless LaStella or Pastor breaks in.

BJ has hit much much better this year, including the last few weeks. Might as well give it a run and see what he can do at cleanup because everyone else is failing.

Actually hitting cleanup this year, Gattis has a .500 OPS with 0 HR. Granted it's a smaller sample size but maybe him hitting clean up puts more pressure on him to perform.

If we had a second baseman who could hit second and BJ continued to improve, it'd be easier.

That AB was pretty sad. Actually more sad than Justin's caught looking K's of recent note. Schafer knew it from the first pitch he was overmatched.

These intimate questions Chip is asking Tommy are pretty borderline dreamy.
