I've explained this many times.
Obama market surged for the following reasons:
- Coming off a historic recession - only way to go is up
- Near 0% interest rates for his entire term - unprecedented. As Warrne Buffet said, if the Fed said that interest rates will stay at 0% for 50 years the dow would go to 100,000
- Record levels of QE... nearly $6 trillion in new money flooded into the system
- Government bailouts keeping banks and businesses afloat
- War for every day of the Presidency
- Global QE and low interest rates (sometimes negative)
Trump's rally is based on a few things:
- The hope that business will be able to grow due to lower taxes and de-regulation
- War
Trump will have to actually deliver on that or we will see a massive crash. Then, Trump will have to hope that the Fed raising interest rates will not steepen the yield curve too aggressively... the Fed is likely to give us 3 rate hikes this year (which I think they should - but it is typically bad for stocks)
The market is really expensive and very overbought... I don't know how much it can continue before a pullback. But there aren't a lot of great alternatives to put your money at the moment

JUST IN: 10 senior officials across the gov't tell @NBCNightlyNews that, so far, no valuable intelligence has been produced from Yemen raid.

Lying about intelligence obtained in a raid to gain a standing ovation at a speech doesn't sound so presidential.
great speech huh ? Was all a crock ah****

Did you read the NBC News report or do you just rely on Twitter hot takes from ****ty reporters?
The Associated Press quoted a senior U.S. official as describing a three-page list of information gathered from the compound, including information on al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula's training techniques and targeting priorities. Pentagon officials confirmed that to NBC News, but other U.S. officials said the information on that list was neither actionable nor vital.
One senior Pentagon official described the information gathered as "de minimis," and as material the U.S. already knew about.
However, another U.S. official said the information contained hundreds of contact details from a variety of communications apps, suggesting possible links to the Europe and the U.S.

I mean I already knew he had lots of weird food things, like he eats pizza with a knife and fork like a monster.
But taking an amazing cut of steak that someone took the time and care to dry age, and the murdering it.
Ketchup whatever, I mean it's bad but I'm sure some who would order it would put steak sauce on that steak which is an effectively equal travesty though.

It baffles me that people care how other people enjoy their food
Why? Supply and demand, if people aren't eating as much of these awesome cuts of meat, they become cheaper for the people who would enjoy them.
Call it the short rib effect. Not long ago short ribs were truly dirt cheap, now you can't really find it for under 6 or 7 bucks a pound putting it on par with loin cuts which used to be more expensive.

Nope, because Mustard is a fantastic condiment. Truly a condiment on the pantheon of great condiments. And this isn't like hating a particular product, but ruining a product. It would be like putting sticky sweet kansas city style BBQ sauce on pulled pork, or the already mentioned eating a slice of pizza with a fork, it's just wrong

As usual, as a libertarian - they can do whatever they like as long as they don't overcook my steak
Overcooked steak can be saved. I've made some pretty good barbecue sandwiches from meat that got left on the grill all night.
Shred it or chop it up into small pieces. Soak it in some marinade (water will do), then warm it up with with whatever sauce you have. Makes for some decent sloppy Joes.

Ketchup isn't something anyone should use past the age of 12 or so btw
it's garbage

That sounds rather impractical and a little bit elitist. Do you not cook? It's just tomatoes, salt, sugar and some unknowns. I find it handy when making my own sauces.
It works good with horse radish or wasabi for a spicy dip. Throw in a chopped ripe tomato with some herbs and you've got yourself a good pizza sauce. I've tried to make my own ketchup from scratch with tomatoes from my garden and never got anything better than your average brand.
I had an economics professor in uni tell us that customers had been conditioned to prefer poor quality ketchup and if anyone ever put out good ketchup with quality ingredients, the public would reject it. I guess he was right.
i love cooking
just find ketchup to be a child's condiment

The documents suggest the program could have better prepared officials for working within existing laws and executive orders, and provided guidance on how to navigate Senate confirmation for nominees and political appointees, how to deal with congressional and media scrutiny, and how to work with Congress and collaborate with agencies — some of the same issues that have become major stumbling blocks in the early days of the administration.

The Trump team has said it was determined to not spend all of its transition funds, and it returned millions to the government. To some Republicans, the program could be seen as wasteful.
