Well that’s unfortunate, and means he has upwards of 50 days of service time.

It’s probably past the point where they will try to play around and gain the extra year of control. When they need him they will call him up.

Yeah. I'm sure they were hoping he would be ready by now. A pitcher can only be in the minors for 30 days while on the standard dl for 'rehab' purposes. So I'm guessing Gohara simply ran out of time on that and is now optioned to AAA until he's ready to get back in the majors.

I actually think Teheran is our worst pitcher... Anyone disagree?

I would say that every member of the rotation is pretty shaky and subject to collapse at any minute.

Everything has gone pretty damn well for the first month, but I don't trust it.

Teheran probably has the worst stuff of any of them now that he is throwing 89.

I can't believe how good McCarthy has been so far. I didn't expect anything close to this from a bad salary swap. Well done Alex.

McCarthy is one of those guys who will be effective as long as his arm stays attached. Kazmir was, too.

There is no doubt that the rotation, while performing well now, is not the rotation then braves are depending on for the whole season. The offense looks good, and could still improve over the course of the season as the young guys gain experience. (Of course some regression is also likely). In order for this years team to fulfill its potential, the young pitchers are going to have to be ready to step up as the old guys either get injured, traded, or flame out.

If they do, this could be a more exciting year than expected.

Good thing he was held onto through the rebuild to anchor this rotation!

Good thing that administration is gone. I'd like to hope Anthopoulos wouldn't have made the same mistake.

I'm hoping he won't have the chance to prove he's adept at a tear down any time soon, and we won't know the answer.
