Do projections like zips take into account for the braves going 12 plus wins vs marlins? Probably so.

I feel like I can squint and see a decent team if the pitching is adequate

I see us at about 80 wins, maybe a few more if some things break our way. A lot of that is based off my belief in Albies, Gohara, and eventually Acuna and the value they add. I'm skeptical of Dansby, but if he improves into like a 2 win player that would be a big boost for us. I don't think we are a wild card contender yet, but you can see something developing.

That's the key for me. Offense should be a little better. We may flirt with .500, but I see that as the ceiling.

FG projected the Braves at 75 without Minter or Acuna, so let’s call it 78 wins before the trade. Add 1-2 wins with McCarthy.

I agree, a .500 record is a good goal for this team.

The most important thing about this next season is having three or four young guys show they are legit rotation options

I see 113 wins after our playoff run. Kemp’s protection will still be felt

    AGon officially dumped now.

Interesting to note the Braves will save whatever the team who picks him up pays. I’m guessing that will be a million bucks or so.

Crazy, tossing a million bucks at a washed up player as chump change.

Why would a team pay more than the league minimum?

He is getting 21 million this year regardless if he signs at league minimum or for 10 million. He has all the control in where he goes. His biggest chip is that he will be cheap for his new team.

Good point. I can’t think of any scenario that a team pays him more than the minimum.

So every single team that might want him will all give him the same exact amount? Some team will offer him a few million.

He will make the same amount no matter what. There is no benefit to him getting $5M from some team and $16.5M from the Braves over $500k from another team and $21M from the Braves.

The team that gets him is likely the team that offers the most PAs.

Well you're completely missing the point. I guarantee some team will sign him for more than the league minimum.

Still looks like you’re missing the point, Esteban. He is getting paid 21.5 million no matter what. So what’s the advantage for a team to pay more than they have to?

If signs for 7 million, he doesn’t get 28.5 million next year. He will still get 21.5 million. He’ll just get 14.5 million from the braves and 7 from the other team he signs with.

No advantage whatsoever for the other team to just pay more than they have to.
