That last play was pass interference big time. Gronk couldn't even jump. Of course it would've been a horrible call.

If that were the Falcons, interference would have been called and they would have scored on the final play.

I have seen one penalty called on a Hail Mary throw and it was OPI on Jimmy Graham. It never gets called and that’s stupid if you ask me. If it’s a penalty in the first quarter it’s a penalty in every situation then.

If they're playing the ball they're granted a **** ton of leeway. Rarely is anyone face guarding on a Hail Mary.

I assumed they would have called DPI even if there wasn't any, just because it's the Pats.

As I said to people watching, I don't pretend to know what a catch in the NFL is anymore. Simply because I've been proven wrong over and over again. To me it was a catch because as you said the only ball movement came from a tuck and that was still possession against his body. But I don't believe it until it's been reviewed.

There was a reason, because who knows what a catch is anymore. Did he make a football move? Was he a runner or a receiver or had enough time passed to possibly make him a quarterback? The NFL is absurd. IF you catch the ball and maintain possession and get both feet down, it should be a damned catch, why do they insist on making it more difficult than they need to? Only instance I can see the "completing a catch" rule being significant comes with plays out of bounds.

To me 2 things stand out about the win for Philly. First the game's hero was Brandon Graham, when he was drafted he was ripped apart by many (myself included) because Reid could have gone after Earl Thomas or Jason Pierre Paul. And maybe they get the win earlier if they have one of those guys, but Andy Reid must be smiling a little bit. This team was his team. Pederson has been his protege for years (pederson backed up Favre when Reid was the QB coach in GB, Pederson started for Reid while Reid groomed McNabb, Pederson was Andy Reid's QB coach in Philly from 2009 on and then his OC in KC), many guys who were picks of his found success, Foles, Kelce, Cox, the aforementioned Graham, Curry, Kendricks, and probably a few others were picks of Reid's tenure who wound up contributing to this win.

Pretty much know the 2018 season will start in Philadelphia. I’m thinking the NFL and NBC would love a Cowboys/Eagles matchup on Opening Night.

It's usually the Conference Championship rematch on opening night.

Pederson's play calling is what won it tho. His offense was unstoppable the last two games with Nick Foles at QB.

Only NFL game I've watched beginning-to-end all year and have to say I was thoroughly entertained except for the ridiculous reviews on the two Eagle TDs. For the record, I thought Clements didn't have control, but it was bang-bang. I was absolutely flummoxed that they took so long on the Ertz TD. It was clearly a TD. You have to have control if you extend your arms to reach for the end zone in an effort to break the plane, which is what Ertz was obviously doing. Further, he took three steps with the ball before extending. I don't have a big problem with announcers, but Collingsworth going on-and-on during the review puts him in the Tim McCarver Wing of the Annoying Announcer Hall of Fame.

Good for Philadelphia. I didn't have a dog in the fight, but it's nice for them to get their first Super Bowl win. Pederson deserves a lot of credit for coaching a great game.

For the record, I still think two feet inbounds on any catch is a very dumb rule.

If you get one foot in and have control of it, it's a catch. Control is very vague in NFL, don't know how they're going to adjust the rule.
