Braves re-drafted McLaughlin. He was one of the high school guys with signability questions they drafted back in 2012.

He's had Tommy John, so there's that going for him.

Of course this scouting powerhouse would have one of the best drafts. Nothing new here.

    on Keegan:

Keegan is the only player on the team to start all 43 games this season. He is leading the team with a .327 batting average and 30 RBIs, while striking out just 11 times. Keegan also leads the team in doubles with 11 and is second on the team with four homeruns.

“To be able to come back from that type of injury and be able to produce at the level he is, says a lot about him growing up as a baseball player and it says a lot about his work ethic,” said senior pitcher Jason Link, his current teammate and former roommate on campus.

But offense isn’t even what he prides himself on the most, or where his significant

    value lies.

“I do pride myself as a defensive catcher, that’s where my, I guess my worth, really lies,” Keegan said.

From behind the plate, Keegan has committed just two errors while throwing out nearly 53 percent of would-be base stealers.

“You have a kid from a defensive standpoint, who is outstanding,” Schmitz said. “Whether it’s receiving, blocking and obviously the arm. He can control the running game by his arm.”

Were you not happy that we were the winning-est team in MLB the previous 5 years?

Of course but when yiu have residual impact from the aforementioned scouting powerhouse then I would hope you can build a good team. Wren and his staff made a bunch of good moves but we're given a great talent base from which to start.

Yanks drafted Isiah Gilliam, switch-hitting OF from Chipola JC, right after we drafted HS LHP Hellinger in the 20th. I was kind of hoping we'd grab Gilliam.

If I was grading Wren this is how I'd do it:

    Trades - A
Free agents and long term contracts - D
    Draft - D

He did go out of his way to compliment the string of RHP we took at the end of yesterday that we merry folk on this board all were disappointed about (myself included).

He loves Allard though. Probably more so than any other pundit. I'm sure that factored heavily into his assessment (as it should).

    From the Henry county paper:

As far as prospects go, a glance at Baseball America’s “The BA 500” reveals that Ola southpaw Jaret Hellinger sits at No. 389 on the list. He committed to Kennesaw State in the fall, had a setback with an arm injury early this season and returned in the final month to lead the Mustangs through their playoff push, returning to his role as staff ace effortlessly.
