So who on the team is going to the coach and say: " I am ready to catch some Dickey, shouldn't be too hard"

Thethe! Yes!
Im picturing AJ catching Dickey. What is the record for passed balls and fist fights in a season? LOL>

Hello Thethe!
I love this move.

I'd have Mauricio scheduled to pitch each time Dickey starts. That ball would look 115 MPH

I'm not excited in the least for this move because this is not a move made by a team truly trying to contend, but hopefully it serves to re-calibrate the expectations some posters around here have for the types of moves the Braves will be making.
You guys are forgetting that Dickey was not only pitching in the AL, but in the Sky Dome. He's not going to suddenly be a TOR starter, but that can only help him.

My first thought was meh.
But I like your comments. 2 War pitcher on a 1 year deal with a team option. Assuming there isn't a significant buy out of that option, I really like having the team option. Dickey could be extra valuable as a trade piece with that extra year of control or if we somehow he and the Braves are good next year then you have him for one more year. Also a guy who could move to be your swing/long man if someone like Newcombe just put it all together.
2016 splits:
Home ERA: 5.28
Away ERA: 3.56
The Braves wanted a stable guy for the rotation, and Dickey is certainly that. He can be relied on for 180+ innings next year, and if he bounces back a little should be worth ~2 WAR again.
So do you set up the rotation to have Dickey after Folty? That knuckle ball will be hard to wait on the day after seeing Folty.
