geez, why would they think the Marlins are going to win? Jose Fernandez coming out of "retirement"?

Because the Nats have nothing to play for.

Mathematically they aren't done but they aren't going to give the Marlins the game.

Zimmerman sure looks sharp early on too, hopefully their offense blows them out early where I can follow another game.

Wow, terrible base running by Nats ruin a shot to score. The one game I want them to play well they do that, lol.

Just saw the matchups in the final 2 games, no way the Marlins win either.

A four game sweep is hard to pull off, bullpen is bound to blow one for Nats. I just hope that isn't tonight and that we clinch tomorrow with a win.

If not Haren might have a meltdown Sunday.

Freeman is really having a hell of a second half. Now 13 homers in slightly over 200 at bats. I wont be surprised if we see a .320/.400/.520 stat line from him next year.

Just pretend the nats are the braves, then you can easily predict them to lose to the marlins.

Sure, they face Koehler who has a 4.3 ERA or so, with Stras going.

Then Flynn who we hit well in the finale in Florida.

    Stranger things have happened though.

Unlike the Braves, they can beat them at home.

I'd say they lose if they faced Fernandez but he's not pitching.

The Nats issue this year has mostly been a lack of offense. So far tonight is no different, I'm afraid tonight will be that game they lose this series. Zimmermann has been great so far, but you gotta score to win.

7-0 Nats now, so it looks like we'll get a shot to clinch on the field tomorrow. Hopefully Medlen pitches a gem and we have a nice celebration after the game.

If the nats are so good then why are they not making the playoffs?

I wouldn't mind if the Nats keep winning. Keep putting pressure on the Reds/Pirates/Cardinals and force them all to have to press down the stretch.

Because they got off to a very, very slow start?

Mainly in June or July where they went 11-16.

The Nats are not going to playoffs because the Braves kicked their arss in their own ballpark too often this year.

It'd be fitting if the Braves clinch with a Medlen win.

Medlen, whom was crucified early in the year for not pitching to his 2012 numbers, while still being a very reliable and consistent starter, was almost demoted to the bullpen to make room for another guy coming off TJ, and is now the guy in position to bring us back to the playoffs.
