iPhone 7 announcement is almost as boring as the Galaxy S7 announcement.
Sadly I fear we're at the end of an era where phones are actually exciting. Last cool new phone feature I can think of was motorola's voice assistant. When you could on demand pull up google searches.
Also Apple is placing a massive gamble in ditching the 3.5mm audio jack. It's the standard and has been around for decades.
Here's a scenario I can see happening that would be a huge failure for the iphone, you have a car with no bluetooth but an aux. How do you charge your phone and listen to music at the same time? It is IMO an unnecessary choice.
Only intriguing feature I see is the dual cameras and see if they really work well together. I like the potential but the question is will the payoff be worth it? Or would the money spent on that have been better spent on something different?
Device will sell millions, and I'm glad they ditched the 16GB model. Honestly anything less than 32 is a waste and shouldn't exist in a flagship phone and I'm glad apple is finally on board with that.

While the black 7+ looks cool, there are not enough new features to temp me to work on.
And honestly Apple and Samsung need to test their products more carefully. Either way it shows why I almost never buy something the minute it's released.

Well Samsung is ****ed. Telling consumers to turn off their note 7s now. Nothing else about replacement or anything. Just turn them off. They're gonna get the shot sued out of them. Replacement notes are catching on fire. How did this get past testing?
They haven't announced a replacement because they are permanently halting production. Jesus. Heads are rolling in Seoul.
Dodged a major bullet with this one. Have owned every iteration of the Note ever produced, but opted to swap my Note 5 for an S7 Edge in May and realized how much I missed the smaller form factor. Once the Note 7 came out, found myself immediately getting swooned over by the glowing reviews and was probably a few days from pulling the trigger.
Now I guess I'll hang onto the Edge. The iPhone 7 doesn't appeal to me much beyond aesthetic and the Pixel is meh.
I was gonna get a Note 7.
Have a note 4 but it's slowing down because of updates.
I may have to get a iPhone 7 Plus. Eh.
Forever Fredi
I got an edge 7 and love it

Blackberry should have ditched the consumer hardware and moved into corporate/government only hardware and software 4 years ago. Android (to them) came out of left field and immediately wrecked their sharehold in the consumer game, which honestly their product was never intended to play in.
Priv was just another example of how blackberry doesn't get it. It came out around the same time as the droid 2 turbo and the LG V10, Compare them all. It's tied with the v10 for heaviest, it's th ethickest, offers no ruggedized features like the other 2, it had a worse processor than the droid 2 turbo and same as v10, less ram than both. THey basically bet on building an inferior phone for the same price as superior models, and then hoping the full keyboard would sell people. The consumer reviews on the 3 products will tell you why that didn't work out. ANd it's probably because the Keyboard looks about as ****ty as the motorola Q's.

And for my money, nothing beats stock android. I know I'm losing a few things going Nexus (now Pixel) or going near stock like Motorola that Samsung, LG, etc. offer. But to me those offerings aren't worth the virtual guarantee of getting my software updates almost immediately and the full control of my device.
Right now only the Pixels, v20, and Xperia XZ intrigue me for new phones.

Spent three days deciding whether or I wanted brown or blue switches for my new mechanical keyboard. Went blue.
I love my gaming PC. It has a few things I wouldn't have done if I built it from scratch but since the CPU and GPU cost 700 and I spent 930, hard to beat it.

I recently sprung for an Alienware Aurora R6 / GTX 1080 (8GB DDR5) / i7-7700 ... about $1K. Running a 5 monitor setup. I'm happy with the purchase. I haven't had the opportunity to do any serious PC gaming yet, but it sure slices through everything else I've thrown at it like a knife through hot butter.
Learning that AIM is being discontinued in December brought all kinds of wavy nostalgia today.
I finagled my way into my first girlfriend's panties using that beautiful program.
Shame they never thought to develop it as an app (edit: Apparently they did ... just not soon enough).
