Letting Stras walk wouldnt be smart at all for the Nats unless they used that money to keep Rendon and sign Cole or someone.

Seems like this is just a leverage move by Stras agents to get more years tacked on the deal from the Nats.

I'd assume so but Stras would have a hot market if he decided to test FA. Minus Cole, it's a fairly weak FA SP market.

It is awful what has happened to Kimbrel. The rules regarding a QO need to change.

He has a 6 WAR, on pace for 200 innings, 200 K's, good WHIP/FIP, every pitching stat you wanna use. Maybe he declines hard but him leaving would be a massive blow to them unless they went after Cole.

Cool moment in the Marlins and Pirates game.

First time ever a brother tandem has faced off against another as pitcher vs. Batter.

Ended with a strike out on a full count looking.

Huh? Phil and Joe Niekro had to have faced eachother at least a few dozen times in their careers.

It was the first time when it was the MLB debut of one of the players.

That's true but I think we're starting to see the market for 30+ year old players isn't as secure as it was just a few years ago.

Never said he wasn’t have an incredible year. I also think he has incredible stuff. I just personally think he is fragile and will struggle in his 30’s. I hope he does stay or better yet the gnats restructure his contract to pay him more. Maybe I am wrong. But his track record tells me he should be valued as a 3 to 3.5 war pitcher not a 5 or 6 that he might get paid for.

Kimbrel just aint what he used to be, it's the truth. AA dodged a bullet not getting him for multiple years.

His FB is averaging 92.2 MPH this year. Apparently, the reports of 88-90 were either false or I'm going crazy. Or both.

He's giving up alot of hits but not many runs. Still, not sure where he'd place with the Braves long-term.

Not saying you're wrong, but i dont see how letting him go makes Washington better in the short or long-term. But i get your argument, long-term deals with pitchers is generally risky.
