Rosenthal: Angels in talks on (weird wording) Rendon
Rosenthal: #Angels trying to get Rendon done tonight, sources tell The Athletic.
Angels trying to secure Rendon per Ken.
Would be one less suitor for JD.
This.
I never said anything about it being a "good trade". You guys are in such a hurry to pounce on people you read things into their posts.
Moreno obviously sold Trout on the idea that IF he'd take Arte's $425 million that he'd keep spending and trading whomever he needed to until he got Trout into the playoffs. There's simply not enough talent left on the board to do that now by simply writing checks, and there aren't many better options potentially available next winter that will get you any closer.
Would it make sense to wait until next year to try to sign Turner to a market-value deal rather than giving Donaldson $100 million now? Sure. Can you guarantee me that either of those guys is healthy next December?
Nobody's arguing about a single one of the precious projections and the irrefutable math that surrounds them. The question is, y'all understand that even Trout is subject to regression too, right??? He'll be 29 this time next winter - exactly how much longer do those models have him providing this level of production? Is he somehow the first player that's immune to the aging curve? Y'all realize he's going to be the same age as Madison Bumgarner this time next winter, right? Remind us exactly how y'all feel about him again. Trout hasn't played more than 140 games since 2016 - is that mysteriously going to change?
If they expect to contend while realistically expecting him to perform at this level - based on every model the numbers community crows about - they need to start surrounding him with a lot better talent, AND SOON (not 3 or 4 years from now when he's Donaldson's age).
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
Evan Grant says Rangers are out on Rendon.
Rangers are out on Rendon, looks like he'll be an Angel barring a snag in talks.
JD to the Rangers or Dodgers, watch. Ozuna to Atlanta. Those are my official predictions

Do we have a model that guarantees that Trout will provide 8.3 oWAR as a DH 4 years from now when he's Donaldson's age? Then wouldn't it be a pretty good idea to go get talent while he's still putting up that level of production? Donaldson's 4.7 last season was pretty amazing, right? Who expects that out of him again in 2020?

Any suitors for Nolan Arenado? Is Colorado serious about dealing him?

Rangers wouldnt go past 5 years for Rendon.
...Christ on a cracker, today brought some stupidity.
