I think Jon Gray and Desmond would be a decent fit. Buy low pitcher and LF?

Are the Rockies even listening to offers on Gray? I haven't heard his name pop up on the rumor mill at all
As I've said before, I don't have any interest in Sonny Gray. I'd rather just keep Teheran - he's a 4/5 and we're paying him like one. If nothing else he'll eat innings for us
And Castellanos can rake. Braves really should think seriously about getting him. Kemp like defense but he sure can hit
Jose Martinez is a better hitter and not as terrible in the field, Castellanos is as bad as it gets in the OF defensively. Plus one doesn't make much money and would cost less in a trade, that is Martinez. Castellanos .811 OPS is not enough to make up for his defense, esp. considering how much he'll make along with cost via trade.

You'd certainly think so - that was a proposal someone else mentioned earlier, but it's probably not THAT BAD an offer in reality.
It doesn't line up according to the charts, but what else can Cincinnati hope to get for one year of Gennett? He can't play SS, and we don't know if he can handle 3B or a corner OF spot. He's going to make ~ $11 million in 2019, they need to create a spot for Senzel, and they're all but begging for pitching. A Gennett for Gray swap would make a lot of sense for the Yankees (and more sense than a Julio for Gennett swap for the Reds IMO), but Cashman seems to think he's going to get better value than a year of Gennett for Gray, and the fact that 11 teams have contacted him suggests he's right.
Given the number of 2Bs available today - Dozier, Harrison, LeMahieu, Murphy, Kinsler, Marwin - for similar AAVs (or less) and the number of teams who currently "need" a 2B, how many teams are lining up to offer a better arm with more control making less money? There's just not much of a market out there for Gennett when you can just go sign comparable players for similar money without it costing you anything more than the money.
When you consider how bad the state of the Reds' pitching is, Julio would be a substantial upgrade over several Pitchers currently projected to be part of their rotation - that's an indictment of the state of their pitching. It's not a sign that Julio's any great add, simply that he's better than their other current options.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
I like Scooter if he is available and comes cheap enough. I know he played some RF/LF in '17 too.
I've never seen either one play more than a couple games, but for what it's worth, Castellanos has rated higher in LF than Martinez has. Short sample applies and they both rated very poorly, but I don't know that you can call Martinez any better of a fielder. Still, the difference is probably very small, and their both terrible defenders, so if you're gonna go with one, might as well choose the better hitter.
Castellanos
Puig, Acuņa and Ozzie would be fun as hell together
