Just like everyone was expecting an announcement after the Orlando airport fiasco... scores are about to be disappointed regarding the after draft Kimbrel (or lack thereof) signing. Because, news flash... he’s maybe not that good anymore and he may not be ready to play until July.

I’d think him signing somewhere else is far more likely than those two options

I hope no one stayed up late for this. Still think it is a few days before they sign.

I wouldn’t be surprised either way if CK signs today or waits...I know MLB doesn’t like any announcements made during the playoffs because they want the focus on those games. I wouldn’t be surprised if they asked teams to wait until the draft is over

Phillies need rotation help a lot more than bullpen but they could use both.

They had to go to an opener in LA because of how bad their rotation depth is.

Agree. I would predict them getting DK over CK. But maybe they make a run at both. Just keep spending that stupid money and go all in this year. They have to see that their window will close in a few years. JTR will he gone in a season and a half. Jake will too. Cutch will regress and jean will too. Who is playing 3rd or CF. I just don’t see how they can afford to cover these holes in a few years. Not with even more aging contracts on the books.

Hearing DK and CK were spotted at LaGuardia this morning, freshly shaven.

They drafted Bohm last year for 3B, but yeah, they're in a weird spot long-term. Not alot down there, and you can only sign so many players to fill out your MLB team. Even a team like the Dodgers have developed and brought up studs seemingly every year despite a high payroll.

Executives all over baseball have been expressing doubts they will be ready before July to actually be in game shape so I don't know how unlikely that one is. And looking at how last year trended, it wasn't exactly positive for him as he was walking the world and was arguably the worst pitcher in the playoffs.

Jackson, Minter, Webb, Touki, Newk, Swarkak, Winkler is our best pen before any trades/or a Kimbrel signing.

The Cubs are a great example of this...they went out and spend big on free agents a few years in a row and this offseason they did nothing because they couldn’t financially do it even though they had glaring needs

They had needs in the bullpen, but their rotation and lineup is pretty solid.

I mean i guess if they had money to go for Bryce, they would but that contract could be really bad on the backhalf.
