Well, weeknights, it's averaged 17,611 for the last fifteen years.

Apparently VirginiaBrave and I are the only people that remember that.

Or maybe you were just in too big a hurry to take a shot at me that it slipped your mind.

As for actually SEEING him play, they've obviously seen him quite a bit since the handful of innings you saw 6 weeks ago. You conveniently leave out the parts of their statements where they mention that while they don't think he's a "finished product" just yet, they in no way expect him to be overwhelmed. Just to pacify those of you who will want to scream about the "blind followers", that's not just Coppy & Company saying that - it's pretty much the consensus across the board (BA, MLB Pipeline, etc.).
I remember a sportscaster in SoFla (Gabby Bell) bemoaning the idiot Braves - remember, no Marlins yet - bringing up the youngster, GlaVINE (like what grapes grow on), before he was obviously ready, and that this was more ineptitude from the most inept management team in baseball.

It's always darkest just before the dawn, ¿no?

Depends on what you were asking him to perform.

Saw the clip of Coppy on MLB Network. When asked about the chances that Albies comes up in September, he left it pretty open-ended but noted that they don't feel that Albies is currently as advanced as Swanson. I'm hoping that means what I think it means . . . June 2017.

Another factor on this might be that they have an acceptable alternative in Jace where they considered SS pretty barren.

Swanson's not ready, I don't care how he performs for the rest of the year. For all I care he could hit .500 with a 1.000 OPS over the next month and a half and it doesn't mean anything. He's not ready and he shouldn't be on the big leaguer roster. We are setting ourselves back 20 years by making this move just like we did rushing Andruw and Heyward to the bigs.

We messed it up with Andruw. He should have stayed another year in the minors and learned how to lay off of outside breaking pitches and go the other way.

We messed it up with Frenchy. He should have been held in the minors for another 3 years to learn and pickup plate discipline.

We messed it up with Heyward. He should be the 3rd best overall player in the game behind Trout and Harper and instead he's basically a fourth outfielder, Al Martin redux.

All 3 great talents that never realized their potential cause they were rushed and never learned to play the game the right way.

One thing I will say is that the Braves are going to be a lot more fun to watch next season, especially if they trade Markakis and after they call up Albies.

Exciting or not all I want is to win, and win bigly. Calling up Swanson right now doesn't help with that. He's not ready yet. Maybe next August he would be, but not right now.

    Seriously???
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Attendance tonight was 19,304. This was the most highly attended home Wednesday game since at least April.

Because you apparently learn to lay off MLB sliders away while in AA.

It's good to go ahead and knock that new off so nobody's really interested in Swanson when they open the stadium next season

The guys on MLB network just compared Swanson's game and skill set to Walt Weiss.

I loved me some Walt Weiss, but Swanson is going to be a much better hitter than him.

Considering Andruw should be in the Hall of Fame, I'm not really sure how we screwed up with him.

Francoeur was never going to learn patience, as that is a skill that usually develops early.

Heyward was never the same after getting hit in the face. He was a great player before that, and just very good afterwards sans this season.

Some of y'all ain't never gonna admit Heyward is what he is which is a dud.
