I had Gattis and Johnson picked as studs this series. Missed on Upton. Had McCann as a dud. Nailed that, too.

several times. Heck if I were in a slump and they were playing off the line, I would have at least tried to bunt it down there to make SOME contact.

There's a money factor at play.

If that was McCann's last game as a Brave, his last throw to 2nd was ironically a beauty.

I don't know if it was a beauty. It took a bounce and Elliot happened to pick the bounce perfectly.

    No disputing that.

If BJ doesn't turn it around next year, he will be on the list with Reeksma and Klob as most hated Braves ever.

The way he swung this year, it'll take Ted Williams to rise from his grave to get him back on track.

You are a better prognosticator than me. Johnson may have had a season way outside his norm, but he's a good hitter.

I still put McCann in because of homerun threat. BJ and Schafer only threaten to strike out. Yeah McCann sucked this series, but you can't convince me to play BJ or Schafer over Mac.

I don't think it was a fluke. I like his swing a lot.

Struggling to remember the last time he threw the ball to second in the air. I love Mac, but I wish him the best as a DH in the AL. He's been a very good catcher for us, but we cannot continue to have his bat disappear down the stretch.

It wasn't a fluke. He cut back on his swing and struck gold.

First two games I agree, but I still wouldn't have start him this game. I would have had BJ out there instead. Mac had no prayer of touching Kershaw and we found out any of their pitchers later. I think BJ would ahve at least got a foul ball, a tip or something, even better, he would have swung at strike 3 instead of watching it.

Mac had a few decent at-bats against Kershaw in Game 1. He almost went deep twice.

If we're going to go with the "Go with what got you to the dance" logic of people wanting Fredi to use Kimbrel in 8th, then you go with McCann for sure. His upside outweighs BJ and Schafer.

BJ swings and misses at everything. McCann got hosed a few times.

maybe next year this team can avoid being a streaky team... outside of those two 10+ game win streaks, this team was garbage

By the way, Kimbrel HAS pitched two innings in a game before. Two perfect innings.

CJ has a deceptively good swing. With the bat held high at address he looks like he's gonna have a long HR type swing, but then he keeps his hands in and looks like he's trying to go to right field with everything. Just has great bat discipline and control. Wish his success could influence others in the lineup - Simmons, to begin with.

Fredi's channeling of Bobby may have backfired on him. Bobby has always been loyal to guys. Carpenter has been great for us all season, and Fredi's loyalty (something Bobby would have done) is what ultimately is going to be the sour grapes from this game.

Bobby would've played it out the same way with Carpenter and Kimbrel back to back. Unfortunately it didn't work.
    Forever Fredi
