No talk about braves saying they would promote Anderson under the right conditions?

Might have to wait till the majors to see if Waters is for real. Dude has been a machine since he was drafted.

Michael Harris promoted to Rome. Surprised
he’s skipping Danville but he’s been pretty impressive in the GCL.

That is an aggressive move and that's been the MO of the player development folks for the past couple of years.

The Braves want Shewmake to add bulk. He's whip thin right now. If he does, it's hard to see him sticking at short.

It's possible he could stick at second depending on how big he gets.

He's not a typical college player in that he's not super easy to project at this point. A lot depends on how much weight he adds. The bat is there. No doubt about that.

I still see him as a super utility player.

Impressive start from IA today. Crazy he could do that with his subpar stuff.

He is just getting his feet wet. Kid has been a phenom since he was drafted.

I believe he will be up before the end of August. We need help if we want to win a world series this year. Teams don't care as much about service time with pitchers and its likely he will start the year in AAA next year anyway so starting his clock now won't mean as much.

What I really think the team needs to do is end this silly notion that Wilson is a starting pitcher. Let him go 2+ innings out of the pen. We have seen he is able to get guys out 1st/2nd time through the order. We need guys in the pen that can get outs.

I do agree that Wilson can help the Pen this year. He can go through an order once. I don’t know about Anderson. Hard to see him helping much this year. Gotta be getting close to an innings limit.

AA has stated that he isn't married to the idea of an innings limit. There hasn't been a study done that conclusively links an innings jump to injuries.

I have seen AA say that several times. But they were also cautious with Soroka last year and it just seems unlikely that Anderson will be more effective starter down the stretch and into the playoffs then what we have now. And he’s basically never pitched out of the pen his whole life.

Well Soroka did have an actual shoulder injury that was nagging him last year.

Shoulder injuries are way way way more devastating and harder for a pitcher to come back from than elbow.

I guess some pitchers can pitch with “subpar stuff” as some “experts” describe it.

i do love that a guy you've never seen play still doesn't have a position despite good defense. just brilliant analysis.

A-Rod was still playing short despite bulking up during his Texas years (yeah roids I know).

Tejeda (also roids) was a bulky guy at one point playing short.

I'm sure a few others I'm missing have done so as well.
