MLBTR recently posted an article that talks about how the organization is planning to use Bautista as the main 3B. I agree with you that I dont expect any of the 3 of them to pan out long term, but man what a kick in the pants tp Flaherty. Dude has been raking, and is being demoted to spot starts and maybe utility IF.

Think you have to consider acquiring Flaherty, Culberson, and Bautista as something of a lack of confidence in Camargo, which is an entirely reasonable thing to lack.
I think Bautista’s price simply dropped when no one signed him and the Braves were willing to promise him a quick path to the majors if he looked ok in his acclimation. AA just keeping his word there.
I don’t think it’s that big a risk. Trading a few Camargo/Flaherty at bats for a look at a potential middle order bat isn’t a big deal. While he may be done, he’s only a year removed from being useful.

Yea, I’m not even saying I agree with the new regime (though I’ve never been as high on Camargo as others), but it does seem pretty clear Anthopoulos isn’t bullish on Camargo as a regular.

Bautista will suck for 100 PAs, and there should still be time to give Camargo 400 PAs.

Is there a collective agreement that Bautista is going to be really horrible?
I'm going to take a wild guess and say he's pretty much just Matt Kemp, but AA legit seems confident in him. Unlike Coppy, I tend to believe AA's gut instincts.
I don't think so. I don't think they are going to move the MLB leader in hits for someone who cannot hit.
The sad thing is we are trying to piece together some way to get 2 WAR out of 3B. And I have other threads were people are saying it's a terrible idea to get Moose if he's a cheap get.
Even when he sucked he still got on base 100 points over his average. He is two years from an 817 OPS. Last year it was 674. I don't think a 750 OPS is crazy for him. Before this year Ryan Flaherty's best OPS was 683. Crazy babip comargo was only 780.

Camargo and Flaherty combining to put up elite 3b production on offense and very good defense. And yet we've decided to make Bautista the starter at 3b when he's hitting a buck fifty at AAA and looking sluggish (a compliment) defensively?
I'm all for adding Bautista to the bench. He'd make a terrific RH power bat off the bench. And I'd be down to start him occasionally to give someone a rest. But from what I've seen so far, I don't know that he even should be a starter for a minor league team.
