When you don't play your best players when they are performing well and are healthy then you are 100% tanking. What do you glean from watching a young player over the course of a 3 game series. You of all people who scream about statistical analysis and its merits. Sounds like you are contradicting your mantra.

Teams operate on a longer time horizon than winning the next game all the time. Sometimes they don't bring in their best relievers in a particular game because they know its a long season. Sometimes they turn their attention to maximizing their chances for next season. It happens all the time.
When you play in the realm of possibilities I would say yes those could be possible results. I just don't think those are probable at all. Ender is plus defensive CFer with an avg bat that is 26 years old. If he loses a step he's going to lose quite a bit of value. It would be foolish for such a player to turn down guaranteed money like that.
The whole off topic portion of this thread is why I wish way back when someone would have realized that a pro/rel system would have been for the good of the game. This would completely eliminate tanking and force teams to try to win throughout the season. Thankfully, OOTP has given us this option in their latest game.
That shouldn't have much to do with anything. Fans will flock to a new stadium whether a team is good or bad. Nothing that happened at the end of last year will make the product on the field better going forward. And ultimately that's what leads to a good sustained attendance. How well your team plays.
I 99% agree with the "shouldn't have called up Dansby" crowd to delay his clock, but, man, some of you fellas treat baseball like its your corporate job. It's really okay not to worry all that much about that extra $15 million in salary that John Malone may or may not have to pay six years from now.
