    No it doesn't.

It might make things more uncomfortable, but there is absolutely no reason the Marlins should trade him for anything less than "full-value". He signed that contract, and in doing so he agreed to deal with the consequences.

Buck up baby boy - your agent obviously gave you some *hitty advice.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

It didn’t drive down the price but it probably makes the Marlins more willing to trade him.

Any GM who would not try and capitalize on this should not be handling negotiations.

He won’t be given away, but the reports of them wanting a “clear overpay” is out the window now.

The Marlins are not handling anything well

It's looking even worse than our tear-down, but the rule-of-thumb holds in both cases. Once people know you're having a fire sale, it becomes a buyer's market and no one is going to offer full value for the assets you're trying to unload.

Not big on their prospect return thus far. Would also think they need to shed some more payroll. That Chen deal is a killer.

I think this is sort of a crappy excuse for incompetence. Both in our case and in the Marlin's case. When the White Sox began their tear down, did they do it for pennies on the dollar? No, they extracted full value and then some out of every trade they made. If the Braves would have used their model when making those initial trades, our farm would have been historically good this past season and we would probably be ready to compete this year.

The Braves didn’t tear down. We toe’d the line of rebuild and retool. We never traded away all of our tradable assets. We certainly didn’t clear payroll to near zero. And the return was for more near ready players in hopes to build a good team by opening of new park. Couple that with the scandal and loss of players and we should feel very fortunate that we have a small light at the end of this. Hopefully AA can finish this the right way.

The beeching about the “rebuild” here is like my wife complaining about something I did in 2012. It is over... let it die

Certainly explains all the silly "we will be competitive" nonsense spewed by the Braves. The last thing they needed was a pissed off Freeman demanding a trade.

The White Sox certainly started their rebuild flawlessly, and should be commended. Time will tell if they handle the other stages as well...their handling of Moncada can certainly be questioned.

You just stated the single best way to have a ****ty rebuild haha.

That's not a very good argument for competence by a FO...

Coppy was new. Got way out of control. I completely blame Hart and JS for the messes that transpired. I am very upset Hart rode out without some form of shaming or blame.
