Maples has thrown Swanson 5 straight sliders. He might be about to be tested with 25%+ sliders soon.
Luckily Maples couldn't locate at all

Dansby's average is up more than 30 points since coming back up and his .OBP is .318. I know that's not "good," but if that's not progress, I don't know what is.

Enshceff- I know you keep saying Frieds FB has little movement. I'm under the impression it has below average horizontal movement but has good verticle movement- does statcast reflect that?
Zito had 5 pitches if I'm not mistaken too although he didn't use them all a lot as his curve was definetely his out pitch...and I'm by no means saying Fried is Hamels but they have similar build and mechanics...Hamels also had a weak changeup when he came into the league that he definetely worked on
Helluva start for Fried. I am so insanely impressed against a great lineup.
And I get to watch Minter. God is so good lol
Best news is all the crap relievers threw a ton of pitches Saturday, so they don't figure to muck this up.
Albies, Swanson, fried, and minter are making me look forward to next year
Hamels had a good change with good fade. He was mainly a FB/CH guy with his curve not being very good. He also averaged 92 on his fastball when 92 meant something 10 years ago, and that fastball had excellent 4 seam rise (12+ inches).
That's why he never had much of a platoon advantage vs LHers.
I don't think Fried is simlar to Hamels at all.
Winkler, Morris, Minter, Viz, Ramirez, Lindgren, Freeman, Biddle (is he on DL or what?) isn't a bad start for the BP at all imo
Here are average movement for LHed SPs.

Fried's has 4.2 inches of fade and 7.1 inches of rise on his fastball. It is neither a sinker nor a riser, it's right in between. It doesn't have much fade. It is very straight, and a below average pitch even at 93. At 90 it is almost unusable.

Love the Statcast info but for whatever reason I think he's holding back on his FB, may not change his movement whatsoever though...was reading that he throws his curve with two different grips, one that ends up resembling a slurve...that may have been the "weird pitch" you referred to earlier in the thread
Brothers up... snit can't help himself haha
