I do not believe the Mets will trade anyone of substance to the Braves. I know it's all about best deal but I do not think the Mets are run well. That GM is not going to trade one of his client's buddies to the Braves for future assets.

I think AA is much more likely to get a Mike Leake who can be a solid piece and should be essentially free. The question is would we be ok being on the hook for 15 million next year and 5 million buy out of the 2021 mutual option.

The Nats are now a WC team. Good thing they didn’t start selling when posters here declared the Braves delivered that kill shot...in June.

It’s a good thing we played our full squad that Sunday or we might only be 4 games up.

Yup. And instead of resting Swanson regularly he’s now out for a multiple days with a quad issue. Refusing to rest Swanson regularly has forced Snit to rest him multiple games while he’s “hot”. Well played Snit, well played.

Any other pearls of wisdom from the experts on this board?

I'm not sure who the Braves would trade Pache or Waters for, but I doubt it is for anyone actually available.

I keep thinking Pache is a year or two away still. He doesn't have the offensive track record that Robles did. But he's coming on and doing it w/o the MLB ball. If they can move inciarte and the Braves are comfortable with him likely being the 8th hitter, it might happen next year (after holding him down 3 weeks).

Agreed...anyone good enough to net one of those guys isn't likely to be on the market. Thor's the only guy I can think of that's even a remote possibility of being available

That play by comargo at ss makes me think someone could give someone big to start him at ss.

    Why does that matter?

I fire stuff off mid bourbon or mid ****. I’m not trying to get a job in mlb based on my message board posts.

It pays to take a deep breath and remember it's a long damn season. #pearl

I would take that deal in a heart beat.
I've said for awhile that Wheeler is my top target. Imagine going into a short series with Soroka, Keuchel, Wheeler, and a healthy Folty as your disposal? And then Fried, JT, and possibly Gausman in the pen? Talk about an embarrassment of riches if that held up.

Wheeler is at the top of my list as well. I feel like he's a hair away from exploding into an ace. He's very good as is.

Wheeler would be at the top of my list to. What would the Mets realistically take?

Zaidi apparently saying the Giants could be buyers come the deadline. That would be a game changer.

I don’t know but they’d be giving up FA compensation for him if they traded him. With the new rules I don’t know if we could tender him for compensation if he left. I’d think there would be a big contrndet’s premium for two months control. Now if we’re going to spend on someone in free agency he might be my favorite. I would probably prefer him to Donaldson and their contracts might be in the same neighborhood.
