Step 2: Use prospect to trade for Stroman.
Step 3: Trade Wentz and Allard for Will Smith.
Step 4: Trade Ozzie for Dee Gordon.

    Boom. World Series.
Not sure if Ozzie is enough to net Gordon

I'd really like to hold on to Waters, but I also want to get a deal done.

Walks have definitely been an issue so far, though SSS applies. But he hasn't given up an earned run or a even a hit since his 2nd appearance. And of course, K/9 is still amazing.

Hadn't noticed that Goldschmidt again has had a mediocre at best first half. 101 wRC+.

Can't make the Cardinals feel too good a year away from his five year extension kicking in.

Braves seriously need to be careful with Freeman.

Would certainly try and extend Freeman but not sure how many years i'd go. Tough decision for AA.

The solution is to get him and Trevor Bauer in the same room together so Bauer can try to convince Freeman that 1 year deals are awesome.

I’ve been assured that Freeman is the exception at 1b that will age more gracefully than other athletic guys like Pujols and Goldy.

I say extend Freeman so he’s here as long as Bumgarner is after he signs his 6 year deal with the Braves. Championships guaranteed!!

I get your point. But it's going to be a very tough decision from the Braves standpoint from a PR perspective, especially if Freeman is still producing at a high level at the end of the deal. He's the face of the team and by all indications wants to be here forever. He also appears to be on the path to having his number retired here. It will be interesting how this plays out.

If we could figure out an extension that is something like a 2+1 then I would be fine with it. I don't want them investing more than that into grandaddy Freeman though

I'd probably do 3 at most, but FF would be 32 and would easily probably get a 4-5 year deal from an AL team.

Given how the league is shifting away from long term deals to 32 year old players, I'm skeptical that it would be that easy for him.

Freeman seems genuinely interested in being a brave forever. I think if we are even just reasonable, he will remain with us.

I know team friendly deals and hometown discounts seem to be the a thing of the past. But based on everything we know about Freeman, he just strikes me as a person who would do what he has to do to stay here because this is where he wants to be, and it makes sense for him and his family. Let's not forget he's also close friends with Chipper, who did the same.

Nationals rained out. Play a double header on Wednesday. Hope this screws up their rotation for when we face them next week.

We squashed their last remaining hope last night

Chipper is also from Florida and Freddie is a Southerner California kid who seems to really enjoy playing in front of friends and family when he’s out there. I could see a situation where he goes West after this contract with the Braves.
