Get ready for Moustakas, full time LF Markakis, a Flow/Cervelli platoon and Newcomb as a starter!

The Braves are not revenue receiving team this time so it's our 2nd highest draft choice.

It's a lessor pick by about 13-15 spots. The idea in general isn't bad if that's the plan but doing on Smith is a head scratcher.

I have a feeling we will sign another QO free agent now as well. Wheeler, Ozuna?

I can see a SP, not an outfielder with Waters/Pache looming unless they're involved in a trade.

Yeah either of those guys, or maybe MadBum or something. A good time to go “all-in,” at least in the Braves way (no top FAs)

Me too. They’ve already lost the pick so they might as well keep going.

I just saw the option year for smith. So he could be here for 4 years. I at least like that option year.

Admitting my ignorance on the topic here, but if the Braves sign another FA attached to a QO, do they lose another pick?

Same. Once the seal is broken, it’s much less of an impediment to signing more QO guys. Ozuna would be nice.

I could see Ozuna if we are willing to trade one of Pache or Waters for somebody like Contreras.

I don't see Pache going anywhere. Ender is a question mark and Pache would be great depth to start and have Ender be the 4th OF.

Keep both, sign Osuna anyways. Plenty of time for Pache and (especially) Waters to mature more.

MLB trade rumors says the Braves will lose the 3rd highest pick... not second. Sounds like there needs to be some clarification

LOVE this move IF we are still in the market for a 3B, catcher, and RF.

Very likely. But IF we have bumped payroll, AA may bring him back if reasonable to create a super bullpen

Martin shouldn’t cost a whole lot so it’s possible. Who wants to guess on the next domino to fall?
