Just did a quick search. Eye-popping stats at Stetson as their closer this season and starter for parts of previous seasons. Also hit well as a DH this past season.

Yea, that’s why I put the blame on the parents and teams with these incidents. High-schoolers are going to say dumb ****; better to record as little of it as possible. And better to be out ahead of it if you’re a team signing/drafting a young player who has any sort of social media presence.

If Braves can get Stewart, Jenista, Beck, and Riley signed, would feel like a big win there.

    No reason to doubt it.

Average or worse fastball, above average to plus curve, average or worse change, and projects to below average command. He's the 20th oldest player of the 130 guys on FG's board, so there isn't likely to be much projection at all.

This is probably a "what you see is what you get" guy who won't even be as good as Wisler.

It's a 4th round pick, so it's pretty much what I expect to see at this point in the draft. After Day 1 it really doesn't matter.

Someone with some pull has obviously had a boner for Beck for a long time, and that guy just got his way.

I don’t really consider his opinion valid anymore. He does no scouting and is nothing more than a collector of whatever opinions are willing to talk to him.

Everyone else says Jenny can likely stick in a corner OF spot.
Disagree he does not scout. I’ve seen him at games.

    The rest may be accurate

We just drafted AJ Graffanino!!! He was number 1 on my board, just edging out Mize. I bet Tony is a proud man.

No Conine the Younger, but it looks like Anthopoulos still taking a page from the Blue Jays’ handbook with another major-league son.

Supposedly “regarded as one of the top fielding shortstops in college baseball”, according to the Seattle Times.

My point is that a 15-17 year old kid writing a stupid twitter post in no way predicts anything when he's 22.

Dumb kid being dumb. I wouldn't even think twice about it.

I'm sure some snowflake will be offended, and I wouldn't think twice about that either. Eventually this faux outrage that causes everyone who does or says anything remotely offensive to apologize and disappear forever will stop soon.

    How very alt- of you.

Not sure calling for the assassination of a president produces “faux” outrage, but I agree that fifteen-year-olds shouldn’t have their whole lives short-circuited by the stupid things they say.

Should that Tweet get more or less of a pass than Luke Heimlich should since his record has been expunged???

He was "only" 15 too after all.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Odds on hearing that Graffanino has signed during the telecast tonight???

In what world do you think it’s possible for parents to effectively (emphasis) monitor the social media activity of their teenager?

Note I was very careful to use the verb “say”, as opposed to “do”.

The Heimlich case, while far different, is nevertheless tough to call: I’m a firm believer in second chances and rehabilitation. The expungement doesn’t really move the needle, though—it’s pretty clear he committed the ghastly act of which he’s been accused. But regardless of what I think, I doubt he gets a chance from any MLB club: it’s just too toxic of an issue.

This is a stupid freaking post.

One is a convicted pedophile, the other is a twitter egg. This is a very simple case to discern differences.

Monitoring is tough, I’m sure, but some of these parents probably aren’t even sitting their kids down and saying, “Look, you have a real future in this sport, so be careful how you conduct yourself online and in public.”
