"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
Braves draftees taken after the 10th round since 2006 who have made the majors:
1. Deunte Heath (2006, round 19)
2. Brandon Beachy (2008, non-drafted free agent)
3. Ryan Weber (2009, round 22)
4. Chase Shreve (2010, round 11)
5. Brandon Drury (2010, 13)
6. Evan Gattis (2010, 23)
7. John Cornerly (2011, 15)
8. Gus Schlosser (2011, 17)
9. Shae Simmons (2012, 22)
10. Matt Marksberry (2013, 15)

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
I've been meaning to go back and look at Drew Harrington's scouting reports, because that is the name that came to my mind as well.
*Quick Look: Harrington obviously a lefty which makes a difference, but was more 88-92 with average slider. I think Beck's fastball sits 91-93 with average other offerings. Beck taken in the 4th rather than the 3rd. Braves probably reached for Harrington and actually signed him overslot, which just seems like an misevaluation. I guess they fell in love with a lefty who dominated a power league.

Still so strange that Beachy didn't get drafted. Rare the system fails that badly.
Pipeline write up from day two. Jim Callis says we had the best day two haul of all teams. Pretty impressive without a third round pick: https://www.mlb.com/news/best-hauls-...?tid=167757330
Wonder if we have enough money to lure one of Rocker or Wilcox in the 11th... doubtful, but I'd like to see us make a play for one of these guys (besides Rocker and Wilcox) in the off chance we can sign them well above slow in 11:
Kameron Guangorena (C)
Elijah Cabell (OF)
Zach Watson (CF)
Isaiah Campbell (RHP)
Nander De Sedas (SS)
Zack Hess (RHP)
Ty Madden (RHP)
Trey Dillard (RHP - JUCO)
Kyle Datres (3B)
Davis Martin (RHP)
John Aiello (3B)
Braves need to keep their hands off of Campbell. Hogs are already losing Knight and probably Kacey Murphy out of their weekend rotation.
He's got the tools to be a really good one though. He has Friday night stuff, but when he loses command it goes quickly and stays gone for the rest of that start. In the regional final Van Horn pulled him after 13 pitches for that reason.
Clemson LHP Jake Higginbotham was our 11th rounder. His stats aren't overly exciting -- 63 Ks in 80 IP. He's also a redshirt sophomore, so he might take some money to sign consider he could go back to school and keep his leverage for the 2019 draft.

This has been a really good draft for Atlanta. Damn.
Interesting tweet about our 14th rounder. Wonder if we have the money to sign him.
"Braves go with Victor Vodnik, who really burst onto the scene last fall heading into and at Jupiter. Undersized righty but with a live arm, up to 96 mph or so, good slider there"
5 of our 14 picks are college pitchers.
9 of our 14 picks are college players.
Venter, the first baseman from Auburn looks interesting. Pretty good power... probably alot of swing and miss at this point but he also had a great JUCO career

Who were the 2 pitchers the Braves did this?
1:13
Topper Harley: With how fast rounds 11-40 move, have you heard of a team accidentally trying to take someone who is already off the board?
1:13
Kiley McDaniel: I know a story about a team drafting a guy with the same name as the guy they wanted, then coming back and taking the guy they actually wanted with the next pick.

Yeah, there's a 100% chance that story is about the Braves' 2016 draft. Brandon White in the 12th round, Brandon White in the 13th: http://www.espn.com/blog/mlb/post/_/...atlanta-braves
