Folty would be on 6 days rest. I give Folty the inside track due to service time issues with Blair.

    Give Weber a start?
Unless they really feel Folty is good to go.

I don't think Folty has his endurance back yet. It's gotta be Blair.

I'd like to see Stubbs or Francoeur cut for it, but I think they'll let Mallex get more AAA time.

I think we'll see Blair personally, but I'd like to see Folty get his shots.

Williams Perez has been pretty meh, so I'm not surprised.

Perez is what he is. He's never going to be more than a fringy starter or long reliever. He's not useless but there's no point in wasting innings on him that could be used trying to see if Folty can put it together as a starter or letting Blair cut his teeth.

If Olivera is out long term, I'd like to see Mallex stay up instead of wasting time with Stubbs or Frenchy. But if he is going to be on the bench, I see no reason to keep him on the roster.

The last update from the teams thoughts on the Hector Olivera situation didn't seem like he would be donning a Braves uniform anytime soon.

Yeah, I'm assuming here that Olivera won't be playing and there would be a starting spot for Mallex. Just not sure the org is ready to give it to him (while I personally probably would).

That's how I looked at it and if Coppy or any of the FO has any balls they'll cut him.

We can afford to have patience right now. Wait to see if there's a way to void his contract or at least get out from under some of it.

That sucks for Perez. I think he'll be very serviceable middle to back end of the rotation type of guy if given the opportunity to figure it out.

He has a bulldog mentality and is actually more efficient than our ace. If he was in better shape no doubt he'd be better. Hope he comed up after we trade Norris.

Curious to see what Kelly has. He was very highly-touted coming out of high school and the Red Sox had to buy him out of a football scholarship to Tennessee with a $3 MM bonus. He was in the big leagues at age 22 before the injuries hit. He had a great start last time out (Saturday).

My guess is we are going to see a lot of shuffling these first couple of months with some of the lesser-knowns like Kelly getting a shot before Blair and Foltynewicz get promoted. Some of that may be due to clock issues, but I think they want to see what they have with some of the other guys first

Interested to see Kelly also... he could be a diamond in the rough if he were able to turn it around. He was a top 25 MLB prospect and a former first rounder... just injuries that kinda derailed everything. Still only 26

I think Kelly has a shot at providing some value for us. I'm excited to see what he's got.
