ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Phillies have indicated to teams that they are "ready and willing" to discuss Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels in trades.
It's likely just a matter of due diligence, but given the prices in free agency, the Phillies could land a huge haul for either pitcher. Lee is owed $25 million in each of the next two seasons while his contract includes a $27.5 million club option for 2016 or a $12.5 million buyout. Hamels just inked a six-year, $144 million extension with the Phillies last July and is under contract through at least 2018. Both can reject trades to 21 teams.
