I'm not sure a snarky post about Acuna's OPS vs Trout's OPS at age 20 qualifies as bullying, but your extreme concern for an 18-20 year old getting picked on by another guy on the internet is odd.

Were you taken advantage of by an older man while you were a young adult that has led to this extreme sensitivity?

    Is this you #metoo moment?

Where did he touch you, and/or what did he make you do?

But I'm starting to change my view, luck-inflected outcomes notwithstanding. Acuna looks mighty impressive at the plate to me. A bit disappointing in the field though.

But no...he isn't the next Trout.
His value as a defender was overblown by him seeing time in center. He just simply isn't good out there. But that bat though...

There was this crazy discussion a while back about Acuna's .400+ BABIP numbers in the minors. Led to some weird expectations.
Acuna is almost exactly what we thought he would be at the ripe old age of 20: A guy with 25%+ K rate, a BABIP in the .320 range, and good power that ultimately leads to a .750-.800 OPS.

To me, the most encouraging signs from Acuna are the excellent exit velocities, and the plate discipline that is much better than I expected from a 20 year old (as evidenced by the 8.5% BB rate). He has had almost zero Andruwesque PAs that make fans shake their heads.

Acuna is the real deal. So is Albies (even if the HR power isn't).

Asides from the stats, I am impressed neither ever looks overmatched. Sometimes they get fooled by a pitch or swing at one outside the strike zone. But I have yet to see them in a situation where a pitcher is just too good for them.

Yeah, I'm the weirdo because I don't like for a sociopath to bother others. I'm a weirdo for believing than an adult should start behaving like an adult. I'm a weirdo for believing people should treat others with respect. I'm not perfect but at least I try. Hell, you think people are stalking you when they respond to your nonsense.

how much longer does he bat 2nd?
why not let him bat 9th if they go back to that moronic pitcher batting 8th lineup again?

it's hard to say he's been anything but terrible this month. why are we sticking with this?

Probably bats second for the next 2-3 years, then maybe 3rd?

Players have bad months. He isn't going to snap out of it on the bench.

Ronald is not going to get to 30/30 due to the injury and a rough patch, but he's at least going to win Rookie of the Year over Juan Soto.

    Last night was so fun.

Ronald is the youngest player in the HISTORY OF THE MODERN GAME (1900) with a HR and 2 SB in the same game.

Also youngest player ever to stand in front of an ump to tell another runner to slide and then jump 4.6 feet in the air. What can’t he do.

Does he honor bets when he loses them?

    Enscheff, stuff it please.

Your obnoxiousness is really getting annoying and if I have to ask management to reign you in I will. I don't do that, I have enough issues on my own board with thousands of knuckleheads like you.

Just stop with the childish insults is all everyone is asking.

Dude made an absurd statement, when on and on about it like a fool, agreed to a bet about it, and then weaseled out when he lost.

He deserves to be mocked endlessly.

It is a message board about a pro sports team.

    You need serious therapy.

I vow to never bring up any reference to Taylor backing out of his bet like a whiny little weasel ever again though. Unlike him, I stick to my word.

No matter how absurd, I'm sorry but an injury should just call the bet off. I did an avatar bet on another forum about Tyler Flowers and the .300 BA last year and I still wish I said the bet's off after he went on the DL.

Edit: That really should be standard protocol with an in good fun sports bet. If there's an injury, bet should be off. The interesting thing is, if you prorate over a full year, my thought might have been right. I thought Ronald could come close to 30 bombs but would not be anywhere near on the steals simply due to what the Braves do that way. He's close despite a tough season injury wise and the struggles he's had on the prorating.

Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.
