aye...he's a second round talent to the Braves...I give that more weight than the rankings from BA and FG

Very peculiar draft so far. Really curious to see what these guys signed for. Can’t imagine we don’t use up our draft pool, so there must be some sort of gambit for the next couple days in place on tough sign prep guys.

Brown could do with some media training...but I find his takes on the players he drafted refreshing

Not saying this is the case here (or it's only the Braves that do it), but after the new draft rules pertaining to bonus slots and overall bonus pools was instituted, I'm always a bit surprised why so many teams just don't go "through the front door" instead of overthinking things and moving around money. You're likely going to have to throw a couple of picks away in the top ten to give yourself some room, but it just seems like a lot of work to end up in the same place with the added detriment that a lot of top-tier guys will go off the board the longer you wait to go overslot.

As to the tamu guy, doesn’t look like he’s made much progress in weight room over three years and the stat lines I saw show no real improvement with the bat over his three seasons. Probably related.

    I can't defend picking a utility guy at 21...

I don't even know what to say about the pick at 60, but that guy was probably not going to amount to much anyways.

I also can't fathom why the Braves were so reluctant to lose the 60th pick if this draft was the result.

    Sickening.
So you guys wouldn't draft Ben Zobrist with the 21st pick? Interesting...

And Fat Ben's words told me Randy Ventura was a better prospect than Drew Waters. You believe that too?

I'd say our drafted shortstop profiles as more of a Pat Borders. Maybe a Todd Zeile? Why the hell is the comp a random old catcher?

After my extensive viewing of the film, in my expert opinion, I see him as more of a Craig Ehlo. Maybe a Steve Beuerlein. Best case outcome is Vinny Damphousse or Silver Charm, maybe Terry Labonte. Kim Zmeskal or Shannon Miller probably a stretch.

This draft was a worst case scenario for me. High floor college prospects are the bane of my existence.

I think Tettleton is a terrible comp. Tettleton had 30 HR power but never hit higher than .263. Shewmake looks to be the opposite. His hit tool is his best tool but he's not got much pop.

Langeliers is high floor but Shewmake and Phillip are much higher bust potential guys.

Can’t defend pick 60. If that was gone and we had 50 percent Kimberly all year we are in first place
