There's nothing that can be done. It's in the concourse areas, and they are what they are. Extending them would take a ton of effort.

The primary issue is that the concourses are already small, then you have restaurants and stands that are popular (like Fox Bros) with lines jutting out into the concourse areas. So it just creates a lot of congestion.

But honestly, the good so far outweighs that, it's not really even worth mentioning. The park is incredible.

It tends to be like this in stadiums, especially when you have sell out crowds.

I'm must curious to hear about the traffic situation. I think that can single handedly keep people from attending, which would be a huge issue going forward. Anyone have any take on that?

Goldfly, I can see my seats in your picture. I was about 6 rows behind the Braves dugout. Unfortunately, I was in line at the concessions stand. The cool thing was that area has its own concessions and bathroom below the stands. Very short, if any lines. The park is beautiful. I feel like I need to go back and few more times to see everything.

Hard to believe this thread started in November 2014, about a year after the surprise announcement by the Braves. The purpose for me in this thread was to supply everyone with updates and info about the building of SunTrust Park and The Battery Atlanta. I hope that I fulfilled that purpose in here. Now that SunTrust Park has taken shape and is the new home of the Braves, the updates and new articles will now come to an end. Again, I hope you all enjoyed the updates in this thread.

I looked in in the live webcam of the stadium on an almost daily basis. But it was nice to see the articles that you passed along. Thanks for the dedication!

Do you still kinda feel the same, or did visiting the park in person change your opinion?

The Chop House looks much better than I thought. And its mirrored in left by an elevated chop house looking area where nobody sat at yesterday which surprised me. It was really noticeably empty.

The outfield wall is a green color which looks ugly. I miss the Turner Field blue in outfield.

The bricks around homeplate and run up to the dugouts look much better in person. The Chop House bricks look fantastic. Definitely the signature part of the stadium. It's weird though because a little down from it there's cinder blocks and it looks out of place or unfinished.

In the outfield there's a geyser and 4 random pine trees out there. The trees aren't even symmetrically lined up and the geyser is used for strikeouts or big plays and it looks weird. I think they said it was inspired by coors and Kauffman Stadium (JS).

The pitcher's scoreboard is blocked from your view if you're in right field.

The concourse area looks great not including the Battery. I will hold judgement after a few years to see if the entertainment aspect still works for the Battery or it gets tiresome. I loved the skybridge with the Atlanta Braves logo on it. Will post pics shortly for thorough explanations.

Right outside the entrance to the park from the battery behind right-centerfield and the Chop House. It looks beautiful in person, daytime and night. The big bright thing behind it in the middle is actually a hugely lit baseball and looks much better in person. This is in the concourse pavilion area where T.I. had a concert right after Saturday night's game. Never seen that many white people for a T.I. concert ever.
