Depends who you ask. I thought it was closer to 7 but I may be wrong. Even if it's on the low side of a 1.5 WAR player contract and we are getitng a little over 2 I don't consider that a bargain. Now the Maybin production? That's a bargain.

Not many FA contracts are a "bargain" and most end up as "bad contracts" eventually . Or at least ours do

Well, its a contract below market value based on his production. Thats a bargain. Pacing at about 2WAR he should be a 14M - 18M dollar player based on the projections people are throwing out thereon the $ value of WAR.

Seriously, how many leads of five or more runs have we blown this year? Obviously, this team can't begin to scratch the surface of whatever potential it has as long as it continues to give away wins.

Brutal. Team is not far away.

Bullpen is the easiest part of a team to improve.

Giving up four home runs to power hitters like Dilson Herrera really help your chances to win ball games.

I dunno. I wasn't terribly impressed with our #4 starter today either.

I'll be very surprised if there aren't any demotions and promotions after this game.

Folty needs to go to triple A no ??? Asked. He's giving up runs at an alarming rate, fckn his bullpen, and fingerbanging his team every start. His mechanics are Sooo fcked up.

How was the pitching staff in 2008 compared to now? I remember that team had horrid pitching.

I get that. He was awful and has been spotty at times as well.

But, as fans we can't lose sight of what this year was supposed to represent. The intention was to be entertaining (which for better or for worse the team is) while allowing the young players to develop for 2016. We need to let Folty throw 30 starts this year. Thats the only way we are goingto knowwhat he is going to be. Glavine/Smoltz were bad when they first came up.

    Freeman hitting #3 - .322/.394/.528

With OBP like that its hard not to score.
Uribe and KJ/Gomes usually put together good AB's as well.
    thank you weso1!

We gave away another very winnable game. Folty with another bad game. Great game by Peterson and others on offense wasted. Oh well.

I just hope blowing all these winnable games gets Fredi fired at some point.

    You are wrong.

There's a difference in letting a team be horrible to gain experience and forcing them to be horrible to gain experience. The office needs to accept that this team can win the way it is now but lack a few points to put them over the top. No reason to completely sell out a season to gain experience when you don't have to. This team prices that. But giving up 4 bombs to 4 players who have absolutely ZERO fcking power is what's burning this team.

Actually, for every positive sign it seems there have been about an equal number of negative ones. We were projected as a 70 something win team and that's where we are. Is there reason to be optimistic? Until we can actually win games that we should've already won, I will be concerned. Saying that literally no Braves lead is safe is (1) an understatement and (2) the mark of a team that's, at best, mediocre.
