Good game for folty. Needs to learn in game adjustments now.
I really hate to admit it, but the Nationals are really damn good. Ugh.
I've been thinking this all year, since Tron got off to such a hot start. Some folks were just so...weirdly dismissive of him.
Something else: the play that Dansby made that made the highlight reel last night? Backhand stop and a one-, almost two-hop throw to first? Tron makes that pickup in his sleep and gets the ball to 1B on the fly.
Not a knock on Swanson, just a vote for Andrelton being criminally underappreciated in some circles.

There was just NO reason to trade him unless it was a unreal offer. He was like Freddie and Julio. Young and signed long term reasonably. Newcomb will have to become a TOR to salvage the trade and that would be "break even" to me. You can aurgue not needing an elite closer when you intend to be bad for a few years, but SS????

For what it's worth, Swanson said this after the game:
“Played it right, it just came up,” Swanson said of his team-high fourth error. “I mean, just one of those things sometimes, just how it goes. I knew we’d have plenty of time at second, and I went over there and tried to play it out front, and it just came up and obviously I didn’t (make the play).”

Well, this is easily the most memorable post I've ever seen in a gamethread.
