He has been disappointing, but also very unlucky as evidenced by his .220 BABIP. His walk rate is up. His isoSLG is also up. Those are signs that he's actually improving, the stats just aren't there because he's hitting into some bad luck. Just tonight, he hit the ball hard every at bat tonight, but right at a defender each time and the RF made an amazing play to gun him out at 2b on his only hit. He just missed a grand slam by about 10-15 feet in his 2nd at bat.

I don't think he'll ever be a star, but I do think the bat will play good enough to be a starter. Like a Josh Harrison type of player.

What was his velocity last night? I watching state vs Florida and braves on split screen and pretty much missed all the details on both games

Camargo has an xWOBA of 344 compared to a WOBA of 307. He's been fairly unlucky.

I can't read French. Should those numbers match?

xWOBA is expected WOBA. Meaning it's what his WOBA should be based on exit velocity, launch angle, etc. WOBA is just based on what actually has happened. When you see a large difference between the two then the hitter has generally been lucky or unlucky. Not perfect by any means but Johan should have better results for how he's swung the bat.

That was my question. Honestly, I was really surprised at the speed of his call up. Wouldn’t hurt him to go back down for a while until the trade deadline.

Wisler did well. Don’t get me wrong...he isn’t the future here, but I do think he could be a #4/#5 easily for some team. Our offense (or lack there of), killed us last night.

I would like to see a Folty, Newk, Gohara, Soroka, Allard rotation at the deadline. That won’t happen of course (unless we are out of contention). We will not win it all this year, so why not give the young guys experience. They will keep the vets though unless we implode.

Does wisler have any value to this point? What could we realistically land for wisler?

Probably a good reliever? If I am a average/bad team on a budget and have poor starting pitching, I would do that easily to nab a controllable (cheap) rotation peice. Wisler would be a average 4/5 guy easily.

I imagine he still has enough value to bring in a quality reliever, may be even a high leverage reliever on an expiring contract.

Why has Joey Busts haven't been DFA and Swanson up? He is costing us games.

    Swanson has been activated.

Unfortunately, AA is not willing to let go on Joey Busts yet. The only move made was to option Wisler out.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

probably more than some think and much less than people want to hear. He’d be a great arm in a package deal. Two of his three starts this year has been solid, so no complaints.
